On March 24, cannabis oil activist Shona Bandas life was flipped upside-down after her son was taken from her by the State of Kansas. The ordeal started when police and counselors at her 11-year-old sons school conducted a drug education class. Her son, who had previously lived in Colorado for a period of time, disagreed with some of the anti-pot points that were being made by school officials. My son says different things like my Mom calls it cannabis and not marijuana. He let them know how educated he was on the facts, said Banda in an exclusive interview with BenSwann.com. Banda successfully treated her own Crohns disease with cannabis oil.
After her son spoke out about medical marijuana, police detained him and launched a raid on Shona Bandas home. Well, they had that drug education class at school that was just conducted by the counselors They pulled my son out of school at about 1:40 in the afternoon and interrogated him. Police showed up at my house at 3 I let them know that they werent allowed in my home without a warrant I didnt believe you could get a warrant off of something a child says in school. Banda continued, We waited from 3 oclock until 6 oclock. They got a warrant at 6 oclock at night and executed a warrant into my home. My husband and I are separated, and neither parent was contacted by authorities before [our son] was taken and questioned.
The police apparently found 2 ounces of cannabis oil in her home. She fears that the state will now attempt to take her son away. She has a custody hearing on Monday.

Applying what you said to the instant case, how many times does this woman drive around stoned with her son? Is she stoned out of her mind at home with the child under her “protection”?
I don’t want to see a son lose a mom or a mom lose a son, but there are very SERIOUS questions for investigators to answer in their effort to protect a child who may be in danger. I wish them good luck and don’t envy any of them their job.

That does mean the 4th applies to the States.

Too many people want a government intrusive and powerful enough to dictate every last aspect of their lives, and that’s why we ended up with one.
People in this country in general need to learn the difference between “my business” and “not my business”.
Ironic how libs want government to regulate every aspect of our lives except the killing of unborn children, and Conservatives want goverment out of lives except when the issue concerns the personal use of cannibas.
Disgusting. To use a kid to get at their parents for something this trivial. If the kid talked about the body mom buried in the yard, I get it. But this is East German crap.
A child says something innocently. A teacher becomes an agent of the police state. The police swing into action. Every kid in that room learned a lesson.
Sickening that this should happen in America.
How do you know she’s a liberal? She was using the cannibas for a medical condition. Is anyone who uses cannibas for a medical condition a liberal?
No....If a parent and I use the term loosely here is stupid enough to educate and I use that loosely also the use of any drugs beyond aspirin or maybe ibuprofen for an elementary student then she deserves a little looking into....she should have kept “HER” habits completely away from her young child. Foolish to party up in front of your children...one of the many small sacrifices made in order for your children to develop a sound self-determined opinion as he or she grows into adult hood....they are your children not your friend....you will have the opportunity to become friends after they have reached adult hood but their needs to a separation during the learning years....stupid broad.
It’s time for her to educate her child that government is not our friend and publik skools are government.
“I also suspect that the boy was never taught about state sovereignty and consequently had no clue that other states might not be like Colorado”
Well, now he’s learned about the concept of school teachers as informants of the state, the dangers of discussing his opinions openly, and jack booted thugs.
Who the hell takes a general discussion about something, and initiates a criminal investigation based on someone saying opposing the states current position? Can’t wait till they talk about guns one day at school. What happens when your kid mentions you let them shoot a 22 last weekend?
they probably waited there at the house with her, not allowing her out of their sight.
I believe no studies anymore.
None.
,
Good point.
Yes, if she educated her child about her opinions beyond aspirin, she should be investigated. A little “looking into”.
So I’ve always wondered, do jackboots go completely over the calf, or are they shorter,, like a roper boot?
” They pulled my son out of school at about 1:40 in the afternoon and interrogated him. Police showed up at my house at 3”
Kid participated in a class discussion, that’s all. Police interrogated an 11 year old based on a class discussion, without the parents knowledge.
Anyone who lets their kids remain in that school needs their head examined.
Something is very wrong here.
‘cannabis oil activist’ from colorado
pretty much guaranteed
People in Berkeley have a lot more issues than pot smoking. In fact, if you can find one of those barking Berkeley moonbats who isn’t regularly on at least 5 different drugs, including alcohol, it would be a miracle.
agreed.
sounds like you’ve strolled through telegraph on a weekend
