On March 24, cannabis oil activist Shona Bandas life was flipped upside-down after her son was taken from her by the State of Kansas. The ordeal started when police and counselors at her 11-year-old sons school conducted a drug education class. Her son, who had previously lived in Colorado for a period of time, disagreed with some of the anti-pot points that were being made by school officials. My son says different things like my Mom calls it cannabis and not marijuana. He let them know how educated he was on the facts, said Banda in an exclusive interview with BenSwann.com. Banda successfully treated her own Crohns disease with cannabis oil.
After her son spoke out about medical marijuana, police detained him and launched a raid on Shona Bandas home. Well, they had that drug education class at school that was just conducted by the counselors They pulled my son out of school at about 1:40 in the afternoon and interrogated him. Police showed up at my house at 3 I let them know that they werent allowed in my home without a warrant I didnt believe you could get a warrant off of something a child says in school. Banda continued, We waited from 3 oclock until 6 oclock. They got a warrant at 6 oclock at night and executed a warrant into my home. My husband and I are separated, and neither parent was contacted by authorities before [our son] was taken and questioned.
The police apparently found 2 ounces of cannabis oil in her home. She fears that the state will now attempt to take her son away. She has a custody hearing on Monday.

Why didnt she use those 3 hours to flush the oil down the toilet?
Looks like the feds weren't involved, so I don't see any problem with a State using it's police powers on a dutifully enacted law under the 10th Amendment.

here’s a thought:
if you don’t want your home raided and kids taken... STOP BREAKING THE LAW
stay in your hippie state and stop trying to spread your infection to other states
She ain't hurting nobody else. She's self medicating a genuine illness. And real conservatives shouldn't encourage this kind of nanny government.
“Why didnt she use those 3 hours to flush the oil down the toilet?”
ya,think?
what “infection” is that?
Highly concentrated THC.

Using marijuana during pregnancy could affect a babys brain development by interfering with how brain cells are wired, a new study in mice and human tissue suggests.
Researchers studied marijuanas effects on mice and brain tissue from human fetuses, and found that the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, interferes with the formation of connections between nerve cells in the cerebral cortex, the part of the brain responsible for higher thinking skills and forming memories.
Most heavy oils don’t flush that well when trapped in a small chamber of water. They keep floating right back to the top, reminding everyone of their presence.
then she should stay in the hippie state she came from
my first morning in San francisco I was at the office around 7:30a and the CEO showed up at 8a. I was waiting for the CTO. he didn’t show until 9:15a. he took me downstairs to the cafe so we could talk while he got a coffee. while we sat at the table, it became apparent he was stoned. I asked him point blank if he was stoned (I had spent the previous 12 yrs doing DoD work between washdc and Boston. ‘impaired’ personnel are not tolerated). he admitted he was stoned and proceeded to tell me of the ‘coffee shops’ for people with ‘medical issues’. I asked what his ‘medical issue’ was. he said, with a straight face... stress. I kid you not.
I replaced him as CTO within 10 days.
I have no time for stoned out morons or anyone promoting their line of bs.
her ‘infection’ is progressivism / liberalism
Doesn’t matter. It is state law. She can change it if she doesn’t like it. Lots of work, that.

Because dope makes you stupid?
and??
Drinking during pregnancy leads to fetal alcohol syndrome, and smoking stunts growth.
And there was no mention of her being pregnant. What’s your point?
who the hell is advocating going to work stoned, drunk, high or whatever. You’re way off point making straw man arguments just because you have a hatred for pot.
I agree. I also suspect that the boy was never taught about state sovereignty and consequently had no clue that other states might not be like Colorado where marijuana is concerned.
It was a matter of time before the stoners showed up.
I find it amusing the doper mom sent her kid to a state run school.
She, like normal parents, learned that any opposing view points will not be tolerated.
