What kind of natural disaster would be bad enough to completely shut down the operations of the New York Federal Reserve Bank? It would have to be something very unusual, and apparently the New York Fed is very concerned that such an event could happen. According to Reuters, the New York Fed has been transferring personnel to Chicago and building up its satellite office there just in case a “natural disaster” makes it impossible for normal operations to continue in New York…

On the other hand Chicago is unlikely to be hit by a Superstorm Sandy or even worse at the same time. If sea levels continue to rise, worse could become inevitable.

Since the “deal” with Iran and the coming kickoff of a nuclear arms race in the Mideast, I expect NYC will be nuked in the not so far future. Might as well git while the gitting’s good.

The key word here is "continue". That means your statement says sea levels are currently rising. They are not. There is not a single piece of genuine scientific evidence of that happening.
I don't argue with the prudence of moving important things out of NY. Or, what would be smarter, redundancy of duplication elsewhere rather than moving.
But nowhere in this country is in any danger from imaginary "global warming", nor from the secondary effects of imaginary "global warming".

Some country (probably Iran), Nuking New York would be all the excuse in the world for this country to be put under Marshall Law forever.
I mean an attack on a millitary base inthe middle of the pacific was all ther excuse they needed to round up and inter an entire ethnic group of people.
Imagine the justification they can exploit on such a large civillian target like New York.
If 9/11 caused an erosion of personal liberty and the openign of the door for tools of a surveilence state and police state, imagine what nightmares the nuking of a single city would bring.... or if it were 2 or more cites...
Or even worse an EMP attack done on the middle of both coasts of the country while at the same time several cities get nuked....
All Iran would have to do is launch a “car sized” satelite with 4-6 nuke re-entry devices on it. As it passes over the USA on it’s 1,000th orbit the thng start deploying re-entry nukes on it.
1 Ground level nuke for LA.
1 Sky level EMP nuke between LA and Seattle.
1 Sky Level EMP nuke between denver and Chicago.
1 Ground level nuke for New York.
1 Sky level EMP Nuke beween Miami and New Your.
1 ground level nuke fo Washington DC.
Only 6 nukes, 1/2 “ground level” max altitude for max ground destruction, the other 1/2 calibrated for EMP effect in upper atmosphere.

That is exactly what they are doing, creating redundancy by duplicating in Chicago. I think that Chicago has the second biggest market in the country. I believe they have the Chicago Board of Trade and a big commodity market. I cannot access Google, so cannot verify.
Remember, the AGW crowd wanted to start their Carbon Credit Exchange in Chicago.
