I’m not a fan of this Pope, especially not of his socialism and “Climate Change” BS, however in this instance he was much more gutsy than his predecessors....or he had much less to lose as Erdogan’s predecessors were much more moderate and friendly to the West, and the prior Popes might not have wanted to undercut them. Erdogan however has proven himself to be quite an Islamist, and there is no reason for the West to handle him with kid gloves.

What's my point? Pope Francis stirred the pot. That would've been fine if he went on to DEMAND that Christians all over the globe have as their first priority stopping the genocide against Christians that's going on today.

To present one possibility: tell PM Erdogan that any conversion of the Hagia Sophia into a mosque would bring about an immediate takeover and conversion of the Moschea di Roma into a cathedral--and to really stick it in their eye, to name it the Cathedral of St. Louis, after the canonized Crusader.
