Researchers Develop a Troll-Hunting Algorithm

After an 18-month study of banned commenters on cnn.com, breitbart.com and ign.com, three researchers claim they can identify Internet trolls with great accuracy. The say their system can spot an inflammatory commenter in less than 10 posts.

It isn’t for “trolls”. It is to identify and quash conservative activists who have purpose.

Some days I could almost believe that FR's mods encourage (or at least permit) certain trolling behavior, depending on topic.

But then what do I know? :)

Sometimes I think they find me...

This is a simple agreement or conformity algorithm. If the poster disagrees, then they will be labeled a troll.

Breitbart is a messy site with videos running in side bars, pop ups everywhere etc. My computer often freezes up when I’m there. They need to clean up their act if they want to be taken seriously.
