Leadership: The sight of President Obama glad-handing Cuban dictator Raul Castro showed just how far American diplomacy has sunk. Far from being a Nixon-goes-to-China moment, this was a craven capitulation.
There's a reason 10 presidents of both parties kept Cuba's Castros on America's bad-guys' list for more than 50 years. Each leader understood a basic truth: Totalitarian Cuba is a sworn enemy of the U.S., a violent threat to the Western Hemisphere's peace and prosperity and an ally of our worst enemies including the former USSR.
Hearing an American president now apologize as Obama did over the weekend at the Summit of the Americas for past U.S. efforts to protect our homeland and our militarily weak neighbors from Cuba's aggression is bizarre and disgraceful.

Wonder what America ever did to him that he should hate it this much.
This wasn’t even “forgiving” the Castro regime. This was sucking up to it.
Amen...You know he’s way out there when even some liberal Dems are against this tyranny.
Well, maybe we’re trying to be better friends than Putin and Russia have been for a few years. But either way, competing for hearts and minds doesn’t sound effective.
Or co-tyranny in this case. What’s next, nominating a Cuba regime veteran for the cabinet?
This Obama has got to be mad, mad, mad at the USA and it’s all for imaginary reasons, it never did him any real wrong (unless it was to be too soft on him).
I suppose there is some silver lining to every cloud, perhaps right now Cuba probably would like the prospects of US business better than Russian business, but Russia is managing its money better.
A lot of what we’re doing now points to trying to win friends over from the Russians. Iraq was an ally of the Soviets, and now it’s opening up deals with Russians again. Cuba was in limbo for a bit with the Soviet collapse, but Putin wasn’t afraid to open up trade with Cuba in an effort to win back Cuba’s favor again. The cold war isn’t really over, it’s just really cold right now and the government officials are tired of giving us an Armageddon warning that doesn’t happen.
If only it was even for a purpose like this, but doesn’t Big Ears kiss up to Putin as well? One Big Happy Family Of Tyrants?
Yeah, he kisses up to them, but like a lot of people out there, they sing a different tune about you when you’re not in the room.
Something like “Oh what a flimsy maroon he is”
His mother met his father in Russian class. After his birth, she rarely resided in the U.S.
He spent his early formative years in Indonesia, a Third World country that had been subjected to pro-communist propaganda until shortly before his arrival.
That stew marinated in the left wing American academic circles. Probably in ethnic studies programs which are all about "oppression" - probably one of the reasons he won't release college records.
He has been taught his whole life to hate America. Not surprising at all he found like minded friends in Hawaii and Chicago.
Well said and that's what this turkey is doing.
