LOS ANGELES (AP) - Florida Gov. Rick Scott is the latest state leader on a jobs-poaching trip to California.

Scott will visit a jobs forum in Los Angeles on Monday, where he will discuss why California businesses should move their operations to Florida.

This is the second jobs-seeking trip Scott has made this year. In both instances, Scott is visiting states led by Democratic governors.

Scott has already taken shots at California Gov. Jerry Brown and his "tax-and-spend administration."

A spokesman for Brown said last month that it makes sense for Scott to visit California since its economy is accelerating and the state is creating jobs. Evan Westrup also said he hopes Scott's stay is "enjoyable and educational."

Shouldn’t be a tough sell. FL is RTW and no state income tax, plus a business-friendly governor and state government.

Here in the People’s Republic of CA it is precisely the opposite.

If I were Governor Scott I would add the following:

High taxes and stifling regulations are only a part of the problem businesses wanting to locate in California will encounter. The Democrats in California have bungled water reclamation and storage issues in California for decades. Not only will business possibly be punished for using too much water, but their employees may have lower quality of life expectations because they too may be harassed and punished if they use too much water. California is toxic to businesses and the citizens of the State. Stay smart, stay away!

Why? The friendly business climate, no state income tax, fairly low cost of living, beautiful blue green warm water beaches, gun friendly.
Just a few reasons. Why not move?

I don't know where the money is coming from, but there's a heckuva lotta development in an area now being dubbed "Silicon Beach".

It's in Playa Del Rey just north of LAX. Lots of luxury apartments, condos, townhomes, etc. Lots of new office space as well.

This could just be the last gasp of the current high tech bubble, or it could mean that venture capitalists are so sure of the success of the businesses they are investing in that the cost of land, rents, power, and employees is inconsequential.

That’s life Governor Moonbeam. But it’s not poaching, it’s a refugee thing man. You ran businesses out of California to nether regions with your policies.

How businesses are starting to respond to California:

"They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em, on down the Mississippi to the gulf of Mexico." Or anywhere else in the gulf for that matter.

For the unborn, you are more likely to make it into the workplace in Florida than Califork-in-it.

Just said the same

Our Gov is playing a dangerous game because he might bring in the liberals and their businesses thus change our state into another cess pit like CA and what they left.

There are pockets of prosperity in CA especially in the coastal areas. SF truly defies all reason, a city where doctors and lawyers have roommates in order to afford apartments. Industries which are good in graces with state and local governments, such as Hollyweird, high tech, and “green” industries are rewarded with bennies and favorable tax treatment. Other industries such as oil companies (Oxy Pete for example) are told not to let the door hit on the way out by our state and local elected officials. CA is truly a state gone mad. Lunatics and union bosses running the asylum here along with far Left Dems in charge of everything. Pasadena, which used to be at the heart of Goldwater-Reagan Country, is now as equally far left as SF or Santa Monica.

Google is moving in, as well as Apple is already there and expanding, there are a lot of tech companies moving in to Playa Del Rey. Going to be a disaster for people that want to drive in the area.

Funny thing is that stretch of land along Jefferson has been tried to be developed for YEARS and Lawsuit after Lawsuit on Environmental Grounds stopped it all Cold. Somehow Google managed to get it pushed through.

(Florida)...will become another Colorado. Dont know about that. Liberals from New York and other liberal nirvanas have been coming to Florida for decades and it hasnt become Colorado yet. Maybe the fringe lunatic liberals are going there.
