Of course I agree that Dems cheat. They cheat even when they don't need to cheat to win so the reason is dishonesty as well as a winning strategy. Libs may be a minority among those who have a defined political philosophy, but while many who vote knee-jerk Dem are not really liberal philosophically, they are naive politically and have drunk the Koolaid peddled by the liberals; and have bought into the time-worn but still effective mantra: the Republicans are for the rich and the Demonrats are for the little people. Again, I agree vote fraud (cheating) is a major problem, and that of course includes illegals voting. That's why Dems are implacably against voter ID. And NYC is poised to grant illegals voting rights!

I bought a tee shirt in 2008, it’s back in style. It reads FUHRC, I will wear it proudly.

I like conservatism but I also like to win.

Can’t we softpeddle the conservatism and just go for leadership, prosperity, security, less government and an American advantage?

I'm guessing that Sequoyah101 didn't mean softpedal conservative policies but osftpedal the term "conservative" - and on that point (if it is the point) Cruz has agreed:

'"I don’t think I’m all that conservative. And it’s interesting. Reagan never once beat his chest and said, “I’m the most conservative guy who ever lived.” Reagan said, “I’m defending common sense principles—small businesses, small towns.”' - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-gop/3230968/posts

Since the silversmith’s namesake said “conservatism,” that is what I presume was meant.

Yes, soft pedal “conservative”.

Reagan didn’t label himself. He espoused ideals that had common appeal. In so doing he appealed across lines created by others.

You will not get elected by mandate along party lines... you will only get elected by a party and feet of clay swing voters. That is an iffy and risky proposition both for election and in office if you are elected. In the last few years we have elected along party lines... the country is thus divided on those same lines. There has not been a mandate since Reagan. I do not believe we have had a leader since Reagan... not even a Bush.

The most important thing to ask, is WHY do they cheat? WHY?

... they are naive politically and have drunk the Koolaid peddled by the liberals: and have bought into the time-worn but still effective mantra: the Republicans are for the rich and the Demonrats are for the little people.

Likewise, many conservatives and Republicans have drunk the Koolaid peddled by the MSM that they are hopelessly outnumbered by liberals and that the MSM represents mainstream American sentiment. But if that was true, then WHY do Democrats cheat?

They cheat because MSM actually represents a MINORITY. Sadly, until cowed, shivering, frightened, demoralized, pessimistic patriots ACCEPT that good news, which many currently resist with every fiber of their being and stubbornly/stupidly/self-gratifyingly insist instead that America is mostly made up of leeches and children "who vote for Santa Claus", the minority of leftists will continue to tyrannize the majority with the majority's willing cooperation!!!! It is flummoxing to see, from my POV.

The MSM represents ONLY the MSM, and the very fact that Democrats and even the Republican left must cheat to win, confirms it. It is plain as the nose on your face, yet vast numbers of Americans refuse to believe it and wallow instead in self-pity and anger, all because they accept the false premise that the MSM speaks for "most Americans," when in truth, the MSM speaks ONLY for the left, which is such a minority that it has to cheat to win.

You analysis makes sense. If you’re right (and I’m not saying you’re wrong), and Ted Cruz is nominated, he’s a shoo-in unless the Dems can steal the election.

It must actually kill Hillary to have to be linked with Obama. We know deep down (well maybe not so deep down) that she hates him.
