A former Green Beret officer who was stripped of one of the military’s top awards for heroism by the Army secretary will soon face a panel of officers that can throw him out of the service, according to the officer’s lawyer and Army officials.
Army Maj. Mathew L. Golsteyn will face an administrative hearing known as a board of inquiry the week of May 18, according to a memorandum sent March 26 by the panel’s top officer, Col. Stuart Goldsmith. It is believed the board will review evidence against Golsteyn in the 2010 death of a Taliban bomb maker that the Army Criminal Investigation Command already has reviewed. That probe closed last year without Golsteyn being charged with any crime, according to officials familiar with the case.
Golsteyn’s lawyer, Phil Stackhouse, confirmed the tentative hearing date and said that his client is concerned about being separated from the Army under other-than-honorable circumstances because it would eliminate medical benefits that most veterans receive. An Army medical board is currently evaluating a medical retirement for Goldsteyn based on an operation he had on his heart while serving, spinal damage, a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress, Stackhouse said.

We are in deep shit until Obama is impeached, Gen. Dempsey stands before a firing squad for cowardice in the face of the enemy, and all of the top leaders of DOD are purged, jailed, stripped of rank and benefits, and have a yellow PC stripe painted down their backs (both male and female. Female leaders in the military are terrible at the top levels of each branch of service (AF, Army, Secy/DOD office, and ICE, DHS, etc).
Dang! Those swords are soooo close to being put to good use with just a little flick.
Stricter rules of engagement than an American police officer. Police can blow up babies with grenades. Soldiers cannot shoot enemy soldiers. Just wow.

How is it that senior officers have no idea or care not how such unjust actions negatively impact morale, even if he is to be Honorably Discharged, the impact on morale remains, the message sent; beware the leadership does not have your back.

I've seen this happen a number of times over the years when people I know applied for employment with the CIA and several other government organizations that use a polygraph examination as part of their job interview.
The question that probably caught the major was something like:
Q: Have you ever killed someone?
A: Yes
Q: Did this killing take place during a combat operation?
A: Yes
Q: Was this person you killed armed?
A: Yes
Q: Let me rephrase the question...
Before this interview was over, the Major must have confessed to wrong doing, and the CIA then turned the confession over to Army CID.
A word of advice to the unwary: Never apply for a job that requires a polygraph exam if you've ever committed a crime anywhere in your past.

The military, like Homeland inSecurity has decided it is the Americans who are the terrorists and the Islamists who are their “people.” Screw ‘em. Stay out of the military.
