None. Innuendo to discredit Cruz again. First, they said he could not raise significant amounts of money. Now that he has, they are claiming it is only because of billionaires, not a grass roots effort.
The donations are probably a bit of both. If there are enough people who care to raise ~$1 million for a pizza joint in a week, $31 million for an energizing candidate does not see like that much of a stretch.
Besides, any significant candidate will have some billionaires backing him. If this report is true, then there are moneyed folks out there who believe Cruz can win. However he is raising the money, it is a positive sign for his campaign.
I find it interesting that Cruz installs such fear, even in the National Review, that he has them behaving like a fact free reporter from an extreme left wing magazine.
The article is titled “Meet Ted Cruz’s billionaire donors,” when in fact there is nothing whatsoever in the article identifying the donors, much less establishing that they are billionaires.
William Buckley must be turning over in his grave.
When I saw National Review I knew it couldn’t be a positive piece. About a conservative??? No way. Statist, statist, über alles...
