One summer afternoon six years ago, Jennifer Teege was killing time in her local library in Hamburg, Germany, when she came across a striking title: I Have to Love My Father, Dont I?
She pulled the book from the shelf. On the cover was a photo of a weary-looking woman,

Teege couldnt believe it. Monika was her mother.

You can view Amon Goeth’s execution on You Tube. It took them three tries to get it right.
I saw a documentary in which Goeth's daughter was reunited with the girl who was her father's personal maid (can't recall the name)."Moving" doesn't even begin to describe it.
Of course neither Goeth's children or grandchildren bear any responsibility for what he did.
I know a guy like that. A troubled American mother who got involved with an abusive African who fathered him and then disappeared. And instead of having Nazis as grandparents, he had Communists.
Grandpa would be pissed.
Interesting story. I think people who take either immense pride or shame is their ancestry are more than a little silly.
Yes, heredity play a major role, but our moral choices as individuals are far more important.
That must be an awkward on Home Videos night
Wow...I had similar thoughts as you!
What a horrible story! I don’t know why this woman hasn’t gone mad. She certainly should pursue healthier interests, or her own life will spiral out of control.
I am sure it sucked to find that out for her. But, how could anyone possibly blame the third generation for the sins of the first.
Are we North Korea?
Bingo.
i agree... it even makes no sense to me that people take pride in their ethnicity... it is not something we achieve... it is Providence... we have nothing to do with it...
It’s like being immensely proud of being tall. It’s simply not an accomplishment.
If I had great talent for a musical instrument (which I most certainly don’t!), a moderate pride in that talent would be appropriate. Past a certain point, it makes no sense. I was born with that talent.
Now what I did with it might be something to take great pride in.
If she joins or has joined the democrat party, then she’ll really be at risk of behaving like her grandfather.
It’s tried all the time. Reparations, anyone?
My 14 year old granddaughter who is half hispanic and her half black friend and I watched the Boy in the Striped Pajamas together. Every generation has to learn this story. We talked about how the father in that story changed and smoked more and yelled more and kept secrets. It was an interesting conversation.
That did jump out, didn’t it.
Both her grandparents were evil and I am sure there is a special place in Hell just for them.
You make no sense whatsoever!
