Recently while reading Acts 2, this verse leaped out at me: With many other words he [Peter] warned them; and he pleaded with them, Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.
The reason this caught my attention is because we are about to launch our oldest child (who is now 19) into the world. Soon she will be on her own, mingling with new people in new places. She will face temptations, she will experience different lifestyles, she will be challenged by others whose morals and values she does not share, and she will make mistakes.
In short, she will be launched into a corrupt generation.

My thoughts on this about “corrupt” generation is WHO taught them?
Seems to me we have in the Clintons the vestiges of horrifically conniving ‘change’ liberals - that goes for Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, and all their hangers on, too. Drop down to their students - Obama, the Mooch and their ilk - who and what the hell taught them?
Couple all this with a legion of rabid liberal ideologues teaching in our schools, university and poisoning everyones’ minds with media filth and I come to the conclusion that “just how the hell could this ‘corrupt generation’ not be?
In their defense, religion - real religion and mentoring of the Bible kind is sorely sparse. So much so, the national religious hierarchies are mired in PC pandering to gays, illegal immigration and diversity for diversity’s sake.
It is no wonder they didn’t learn anything to keep them from being ‘corrupted.’
real religion and mentoring of the Bible kind is sorely sparse.
“Sorely sparse” is sadly true. I stand extremely guilty as are so many of us.
We did not teach like our fathers and we did nothing as the hectoring began and the moral relativism took hold.
WE were silent or worse encouraging them to strike out into a new reality.
But the wisdom of the ancients was lost to us and now them. The word of God was scorned and the role of discipline and self control was lost. The bending of our will to the laws of God was refused and scorned. WE have our OWN rules, we said.
No, God will not be mocked and the vengeance will be terrible. We may not pay the ultimate price but our children, not raised to respect religion and to fear God most definitely will.
I pray God forgive me for my part in this.
