To Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter: We're Right Here!

Dear Bill and Ann,

I deeply appreciate both of you calling out Christian leaders in recent days, challenging our courage and our willingness to stand for what is right. I too have been grieved over the moral capitulation of so many professing Christians, from pastors to politicians and from congregants to congressmen.

In fact, I posted this on my Facebook page just this morning:

I am so deeply grieved over what I have witnessed this week in Indiana, Arkansas, and Georgia, as governors and legislators suddenly caved the moment the threats and shouts came their way.

Where are the men and women of moral principle and courage? Where are those who will stand up for what is right because it is right? The words of Dr. King call out to us again today: “Cowardice asks the question, is it safe? Expediency asks the question, is it politic? Vanity asks the question, is it popular? But conscience asks the question, is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.”

Oh for God's people to awake to righteousness! Oh for God to raise up leaders with courage and conviction! Oh for men and women with backbones of steel and hearts of compassion! Pray that you and I would be among them, to the glory of Jesus' name and for the sake of this dying world.

You can readily see how much my heart beats with yours in calling for Christian leaders to stand and be counted, regardless of cost or consequence.

But that’s not the main reason for this open letter. Instead, I want to bring to your attention that there are thousands of solid Christian leaders who are taking a stand, who are making their voices heard, who are speaking “the truth in love” (to use Paul’s words), refusing to capitulate to culture and refusing to bow down to the gods of this age.

Could it be that you are not aware of these leaders?

Some of them are pastors and denominational leaders, others lead family ministries, while others are journalists or radio or TV hosts, while still others do most of their work through social media and blogging.

I’m in touch with them every day, and they are people of principle, people who are not in this for celebrity or financial gain (to the contrary, they are mocked for their stands and often suffer financial loss), people of moral conviction.

For some time now I too have been calling on followers to Jesus stand and be counted, and around the country, I see such people rising up, and not just in the public square. They are doing what is right in their personal lives, in their homes, in their places of business, and in whatever sphere of influence God has given them, and they are part of a larger grass roots revolution that is beginning to wake up and say, “Enough is enough.”

When I do my daily radio broadcast, I’m introduced as the people’s “voice of moral, cultural, and spiritual revolution,” and on a regular broadcast, I meet listeners who say to me, “You are my voice,” meaning, “You say through the airwaves what I feel and want to say.”

So, Bill and Ann, we’re out here by the thousands, as leaders and by the millions as a larger constituency.

Perhaps if you expand your databases a little you might hear from more of these people? Perhaps you’ll be encouraged to know that there are plenty of fine Christians who have not sold their souls to political expediency or economic advantage?

Again, I applaud you for raising these issues and putting forth the challenge. I’m simply here to say, “We’re right here, Bill and Ann! Some of us are older and some of us are younger, but we’re here, we’re standing, we’re speaking, and by God’s grace, we’re not backing down.”

And that leads me to one final question. Could it be that, even on Fox News, where both of you issued your challenge, there are politics that stand in the way of certain voices being heard? Could it be that there’s a battle for political correctness on Fox, to the point of censoring certain voices?

A few years ago, a colleague of mine who works in the PR industry sent a book to one of your producers, Bill, knowing that the subject matter would be right up your alley, addressing some of these very issues. But my colleague told me privately that he didn’t have much confidence that the book would get to you, seeing that the producer in question was openly gay and might take offense at the contents of the book.

Is this an accurate report? My colleague has a long history in the business and is quite trustworthy, but perhaps it’s totally inaccurate and perhaps, contrary to his concerns, all rational and articulate voices are welcome on Fox.

I would love for that to be the case and for Fox to welcome many more men and women of courage and conviction to your network.

My point, again, in writing is to say, “Thanks, Bill and Ann, for raising your voices, but be assured: There are plenty of strong Christian voices out here, speaking as loudly and clearly as we can. Why not help amplify our message?”

Daniel Foster from which the following is excerpted: “Guard against pride, covetousness, and a disposition to bind heavy burdens on the people.”

Lord, give broadcast microphones to your grace-based people who understand

1) we are born with God-given, inalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

2) the presumptions of our freedoms and the express limitations of the federal government in the Constitution, and

3) the Constitution as the Rule of Law in our land and unconstitutional federal acts as acts of lawlessness and tyranny.

Remember the captain of the cruise ship? He was one of the first to abandon the ship and all of the people on board.(HA! He now sits in jail) Why? Because he was/is a weasel that will always look out for himself first.
IMO, most of our so called Christian and political leaders are cut from the same cloth as that captain! At the first sign of trouble they abandon us. They do not stay and steer us through rough waters....they jump ship!!

This was the situation way back when in the days of Rome. A few decades of no persecution and the Church expanded and prospered and the many proselytes had no experience of adversity. Then came the next Persecution and they lined up at the temples to sacrifice. They fell away easily. It caused schism as the bishops that remained loyal opposed each other about whether the apostates should be readmitted or how onerous their repentance must be.

Ann is becoming less relevant than Bill. Last night she was reminiscing about Romney's polished presentation.

Ann has gone VERY elitist in her old age. Maybe she always was, but it was more hidden.

But it will take more than stand and be counted. The only thing that will do the job is to round up these punks and beat the hell out of them. Sorry, not the Christian way but the only way. War has been declared on us and the time has come.

Bill was focusing on not the conservative personalities with a microphone, but specifically focusing on priests and pastors of churches. He was especially emphatic about the silence of cardinals and bishops of the Catholic Church, in the face of genocide abroad in the Middle East and the rise of militant LGBS and militant corporations against Christians in the USA.

Ann veered off once to make mention of someone outside the churches, and O’Reilly brought her right back, and said, “No, I am talking about the church leadership!”

He said he can’t get these high profiles to come on his show. They are cowards in the face of their own extinction, is clearly what he was saying.

So, these writers trying to cash in a column about how great they are in addressing the problem miss the point entirely.

It is Christian church pastors and Catholic priests who are not shepherding anyone anywhere in these dangerous times. Christians need to rise up as a Church, under the banner of the Church and her shepherds need to be leading the way.

As an aside, Coulter had her usual face-covering long straight lank locks ripple-waved to the max the other night. It was a sight to behold. My late mother-in-law used to raise blondish cocker spaniels back in the day....and Ann looked like one of them.

If she's trying to look younger by imitating all those Fox News cookie-cutter blonds, all I can say is "Arf, Arf".

I’m not going to be a fool for the P.T Barnum show called Fox News.

The O’Reilly-Coulter comments distract attention from the real problem we have with the fascistic activists and their corporate allies who are intimidating people, small business and government.

Its also a distraction from the fact that the Republican politicians they promote and support caved on this issue from Jeb Bush to Mike Pence and so on........

Conservative religious people deserve freedom of religion and speech guaranteed by the First Amendment.

God help those who say they follow him to keep their hearts and lives clean. If there is any failure in religious circles and I think there is a lot, may those who have fallen down allow God to help pick them up.

Really? You’re ‘right here’? Because and and most of America haven’t heard a stinkin word from you folks- but we’ve heard PLENTY from the 1.6% of the population that has caused you folks to cower- We hear from them all the time as they attack Christianity, but never a peep from you folks- how is it that we constantly hear about the gays screaming, forcing people to comply but never heard of you folks before your letter to Bill? The gays are on TV DAILY now screaming bloody hell, but at best, we see perhaps a catholic spokesman, not the leaders mind you, but a spokesman, come out and essential just say Tsk Tsk- they shouldn’t be saying such things about us’

Yeah, that’ll teach em a lesson

And just for the record, it’s going to take a LOT more than an appearance or two on Fox News to make a stand- You’ll have to go directly into the snake’s dens of the MSM to confront them, repeatedly, because a guest appearance or two on fox will be quickly forgotten and the MSM will just wait out the temporary uproar and then take right back up where they left off once the dust settles-

So yeah, Get your answers ready, and be prepared and STICK to message- don’t let the snakes draw you into what they want to speak about-

Then write Fox news another letter and tell them you are ‘right here’ It will have much more credence after that
