The American Civil Liberties Union, theoretically a non-ideological defender of the Constitution but in practice increasingly hard left, is running into financial difficulties and just announced (memo to staffers here) layoffs for 7 percent of its lawyers.
Why the difficulties? It’s a little unclear, but Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit writes, “What I hear is that they’ve moved too far left, too fast, and it’s hurt their donations.”

Bad economic times also mean bad times for shyster lawyers too.
Perhaps Caliph Baraq can issue an executive order and start up some type of “jobs program” for these poor folks?

The ACLU has been to the left of Joseph Stalin for years. Perhaps America is wiping it’s eyes and smelling the coffee.
They will continue with the Islamic terrorist-lawyers,

The ACLU says it believes in the bill of rights...except of course for the second amendment.
On a similar note (jobs programs) I heard on the radio yesterday that the caliph is going to start programs in 20 locations around the country to train departing military folks on...........wait for it............installing solar panels. Yeah, that ought to do it.

Apparently fleecing the American public isn’t a lucrative as it once was....
I would suggest that the problem actually runs the other way. With Holder’s Department of Just us grabbing the cases on the far left, there is less high profile work available to the ACLU. Then, they took an occasional free speech case for folks other than the hard left, offending their core supporters of country club democrats.
You could be on to something there. Go straight to jail, no $200.00 and no get out of jail free cards for violators for anybody (WASP) that is “accused” of violating someones right to be offended.
Some rich liberal comrade (a Soros-type) needs to pony up some dough to save these poor workers.
Sounds like a typical union, with the bosses taking more and more to support their entitled life style.
