New Hampshire Gun Laws: Quotes From Heated Gun Control Debate

Opponents of the bill are fearful that making it easier to carry a concealed handgun will create a charged environment where gun violence could quickly escalate. Zandra Rice Hawkins, Executive Director of Granite State Progress, said that allowing for constitutional carry will simply gut already weak gun laws.

"In New Hampshire, it is already easier to legally carry a handgun than it is to legally drive a car," Hawkins told the Union Leader."SB 116 would make that worse. It is reasonable to deny concealed carry permits to those who are a danger to themselves or others."

The usual pap. More escalation of violence (blood in the streets) and easier to have a gun than to drive a car crap. I sure wish they; point out which amendment protects our rights to drive. I keep missing it somehow.

I wonder what percentage of NH voters were born in the Gay State (Massachusetts)? Or the Soviet Republic of Vermont? Or Taxationland (Maine)?

New Hampshire already has open carry without a license, but the law already says for non-felons.
I'm sure license free concealed carry will be no different.

“In New Hampshire, it is already easier to legally carry a handgun than it is to legally drive a car,”

As we’ve been told many times, there is no “right” to drive a car, it is a privilege, we have a God give “right” to keep and bear arms which shall not be infringed.

Brownback is signing SB 45 in Kansas today. It is the constitutional concealed carry bill and it will go into effect on July 1st.

Now I’m unsure about the July 1st date for the Kansas Constitutional Carry being enacted. Reading the bill it has a July 1st date mentioned but it was 2014 and concerned changes that were made last year. This may have confused various publications and they used that date. The bill indicates it becomes law once it is published in the Kansas Register. Since the Register is published weekly it may be law by next Thursday.
