Full title: Atlanta cheating scandal teachers go to cells in hand-cuffs: Eleven educators face up to 20 years in prison for inflating their students' test scores to get bonus money for their schools . . . and for themselves

The 11 teachers, testing coordinators and other administrators were convicted Wednesday of racketeering after a five-year investigation

Evidence of cheating was found in 44 schools across the Atlanta school system, with nearly 180 educators involved

A racketeering charge could carry up to 20 years in prison and most of the defendants will be sentenced on April 8

The cheating came to light after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported in 2008 that some student's scores were statistically improbable

Prosecutors said the educators were guaranteed bonuses by inflating scores, while improving the poor reputation of their school system

Superintendent Beverly Hall , the alleged ringleader who received up to $500,000 in payouts , died of breast cancer as the scandal went to trial

One principal would wear gloves to erase answers and write in new ones

In one of the biggest cheating scandals of its kind in the U.S., 11 former Atlanta public school educators were convicted Wednesday of racketeering for their role in a scheme to inflate students' scores on standardized exams.

The defendants - including teachers, a principal and other administrators - were accused of falsifying test results to collect bonuses or keep their jobs in the 50,000-student Atlanta school system.

Yeah, remember this black crook Beverly Hall who was the ringleader in this scandal?

In 2009, the American Association of School Administrators named Hall as National Superintendent of the Year, mentioning Atlanta’s “significant gains in student achievement over the past 10 years.”[7]

She got the easy way out, she died! Hope she likes it in Hell!

And at least 95% of them are “Holder’s People!”

I share your elation! May they enjoy 20 years making license plates or cleaning toilets day after day.

They’ve had 7 years to play the race card; I guess it didn’t work this time.

Let’s talk about racial profiling. Anyone think that happened here?

The next persons that should be handcuffed are the developers of the common core initiative as well as the technologists behind the data mining that has taken on a life of its own. . . . parents don’t have a clue what kind of information is being kept on the student and family.

Like I have always said, School Administrators are the highest-paid “migrant workers” we have in this country. Not long ago the “Holder’s Person” who was Superintendent in San Francisco was found to be of the “caliber” of the Holder’s Woman in Atlanta, so the Board “ bought out her contract” and sent her down the road. And that road lead right to Philadelphia where in six months time, she was already persona non grata there. The problem is they take huge sums of taxpayer dollars with them and leave a train wreck.

This is standard procedure in most school districts across America, Inflating Grades. I once asked the DA of Los Angeles why he didn’t PROSECUTE Every Last School Teacher and Administrator for Major Fraud regarding the Outright and Admitted Falsification of Official Government Documents for Personal Gain(Changing Grades). He actually Agreed it was Fraud but said it was too political. That was Gil Garcetti, and it was during the OJ Trial.

What happened to the teachers is what would happen to you or me if we were to break the law.

Hillary, however, is above the law.

I’m happy they got busted BUT:

If you kill 4 people, start your own pop-up CIA with secret server and start a private war, then delete your server...

Your punishment is LOWER than a public-school teacher who cheats.

Your punishment is LOWER than a pro-baseball guy who MIGHT have injected growth hormone.

Isn’t that amazing?

Seriously? This is Atlanta, where I live. The test scores came in substantially higher than previous years, without explanation. The AJC was without doubt right in investigating this and Governor Perdue was brave in requesting the legal investigation. Everyone here, of moral turpitude, and whether black or white, is incensed these kids were robbed of their education for those years.

I seriously hope yore being sarcastic. These folks need to be put away for enough years they will no longer be physically capable of doing more harm. There needs to be an extremely strong message given with the sentencing.

And the TPTB also need to stop giving bonuses to public sector workers for their work. Teachers get bonuses for better grades? IRS Gets bonuses for more collections or more 503C denials? Whoever thought those were good ideas needs to just go away.
