The United States plans to send soldiers to Ukraine in April for training exercises with units of the country's national guard.
Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said in a Facebook post on Sunday that the units to be trained include the Azov Battalion, a volunteer force that has attracted criticism for its far-right sentiments including brandishing an emblem widely used in Nazi Germany.

There is a bright line between defending and arming the Ukraine. Defending implies that if they are attacked we will send our men to die alongside them, or in their stead if need be. Defending them? I would not support that and I hope the vast majority of people would not either. It is not our job and never has been.

Until recently Ukraine was against defending and/or arming Ukraine. They inherited from the USSR everything they needed to defend themselves. Except a viable government. The Ukranian kleptocrats sold off everything and refused to equip themsleves. Of course they hoped the U.S. would do the spending and dying so could keep on there socialist spending binge.

My wife’s extended family lives in the conflictive zones and nowadays no longer consider Russians as brother and sister Slavs even though her family speak Russian and not Ukrainian. They hate Putin and his troops there supporting the corrupt separatist movement.
