“Saudis have mobilized 150,000 troops for a ground invasion of Yemen”

18 million citizen. 8 million foreigners. Most of their army is National Guard, which I think we will find to be under trained, under supportive, and under equipped. According to various reports, they would have an extremely hard time presenting 150,000 armed troops. Maybe 150,000 personnel in total, but not armed.

What other reason(s) do you think Saudis have for paying foreigners (include in that Egyptians, Pakis, etc..) to fight for them (apart from the fact that they’ve money to finance them if/when needed)?

Toad, the RS Army and the Saudi NG are distinct entities. Perhaps even sort of rivals. Two different princes, different philosophies, different weapons, etc. Man for man,of the two, the NG definitely looks meaner and tougher, despite the RS Army's perhaps more elaborate equipment.

It was the NG that did more of whatever heavy lifting the Saudis actually did in the Gulf War.
