Toad, the RS Army and the Saudi NG are distinct entities. Perhaps even sort of rivals. Two different princes, different philosophies, different weapons, etc. Man for man,of the two, the NG definitely looks meaner and tougher, despite the RS Army's perhaps more elaborate equipment.

It was the NG that did more of whatever heavy lifting the Saudis actually did in the Gulf War.

Very true. Their NG is the actual labor of their forces. Still, how well trained, disciplined, and equipped are they? I’ve never considered SA to be a force of any significant value. Recent flight training with them suggests they are still more show than anything else.
