I'd like to see a current events test for voters and also proof that you paid federal taxes. If you have nothing in the game, why should you vote?

You’ll have to get rid of that pesky 24th Amendment first.

One vote for every $1000 you paid in personal income taxes.

Waters World highlights the stupidity of people.... and why many of them should not be voting.

They did better on current events than history. LOL

Those questions weren’t about current events. That was a poor man’s Jaywalking. If you think being able to vote should be predicated on your acceptance of global warming, prepare to stand on the sidelines.

I'd like to see a current events test for voters You want to have the current administration set up a test where you have to give their answers in order to vote?
Don't imagine a test with your position, and your answers.
Do not give government the power to select which citizens get to vote.

Easy to select test questions which would skew results toward a particular political outcome.
Citizenship is enough. If you want a filter, use land ownership.

1) So politicians could off-shore all the jobs in my area, and disenfranchise me from voting? No thanks. You're assumption that everybody that didn't pay taxes is voluntarily out of work is not a good one. What about elderly? You're going to disenfranchise them? What about disabled veterans? You're going to disenfranchise them too?
2) Be careful what you ask for. Who makes the current events test? While the concept seems good, the devil's in the implementation. You're likely to end up with questions that have liberal talking points as answers instead of well rounded current events?
- Which party violated the Logan act and interfered with Presidential negotiations with Iran?
- Which party wants to cut food stamps?
- Which party wants to deport undocumented Mexican workers who have married American citizens and have children?
- Which President started the Iraq and Afghanistan wars?
- Which President got us out of Iraq?
- WHich President passed the Affordable Health Care Act?
See what I mean?

How about a literacy test first. People should be able to read and write english before they vote.
