Obamacare flying machine begins a death spiral
The Washington Times ^ | 03/26/2015 | Sean Parnell

Premiums are rising rapidly and the young and healthy are bailing out

The Supreme Court decision in King v. Burwell, the case challenging the Obama administration’s decision to award tax credits for health insurance sold through federally established exchanges, could turn on the question of whether a ruling that ends the tax credits on federal exchanges might cause something known as a “death spiral” in health insurance markets.

The good news is the answer is probably no, but the bad news is that’s only because the death spiral has probably already started.

In a way, this is analogous to the cities going bankrupt. Only the individual citizen goes “bankrupt” a whole lot quicker because he doesn’t have the collective known as the “taxpayer” behind him at the end of the day. Individuals don’t have the where with all to “kick their personal can down the road.”

The New York Times: Has Obamacare Enrollment Stalled?
http://healthpolicyandmarket.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-new-york-times-has-obamacare.html

From Link:

The number of people signing up for Obamacare is well below the level necessary to make the rates stable over the long-term––the longstanding insurance industry standard calls for getting 75% of an eligible group in order to have enough healthy people in the pool to pay the costs of the sick people. I have reported to you that less than half of the subsidy eligible have signed up so far.

The Obama administration’s enrollment estimates, that they now use to celebrate their 2015 enrollment results, were low ball estimates that aren’t close to the kind of enrollment they need to make the program both politically and financially sustainable.

Obamacare’s overall enrollment is coming up way short of original projections and has slowed down considerably in the most recent second open enrollment.

I do not think anyone really thought this through. I remember Democrats were all patting themselves on the back. I also remember the picture of a group of Democratic legislators walking up the steps in unison against the will of the American people. The Dems pressured Chief Justice John Roberts to change his vote. It was curious that it was reported in MSM that John Roberts hotel room was robbed when he was away on holiday some months before the Court was supposed to take up the ADA.

This POS will now have money thrown at it by idiot politicians from now until kingdom come.

This thing needs to be killed off entirely with a stake through its heart.

Nothing is going to make this pig fly. It is unaffordable. The insurance companies that thought this was going to be their subsidized avarice come true should crash and burn on their way to hell. Same goes for the healthcare institutions that thought this pig was their golden goose. The Third World is never more than a socialist idea away.
