Ted Cruz's entire decision of whether to jump-start his presidential candidacy at the end of a fundraising quarter hinged on the ability to raise $1 million in the first week.
The Texas senator ended up hitting that milestone in just over a day.

Whew hew. You can bet your bottom dollar that everyone...and I mean both sides of the aisle will be monitoring these numbers very closely.
Just over a day. Dang I thought he stood a chance.

This is positive news. However, I’m surprised we’re not seeing more Cruz News, particularly on our Feeper website.
Unquestionably, Cruz has energized millions of us who were losing hope daily watching progressives get away with blatant lies, corruption, unconstitutional and impeachable acts of treason and worse.
Yeah, and now Cruz is even sticking it to the tired old global warming crowd. Does your heart boundless good to hear those View witches cackle and bitch.
But how can he expect to win? The only thing hes got going for him is honesty, integrity, love of country and Constitution, brilliant intelligence, eloquence and maybe most important the guts and will to stick it to the progressive scum as well as his fellow republican traitors.
Im not rich, but Im energized, for the first time in years! Heres a guy we can follow through the bowels of hell.
Im in for $50 and plan to keep on giving. http://www.tedcruz.org/?utm_source=p-email&utm_medium=email6&utm_campaign=email
Im shocked to come to Free Republic and see so little response and enthusiasm. Lets step up.

Let’s step up.
I’ve thought about contributing. I’m going to wait awhile though.
Good news!
Only 99 million to go. The first couple days are the easiest to raise money....after all the fans send in money it gets more difficult. Good luck to Cruz though...........he can cruz on into victory.
(from a Rail Gun test)
He isn’t viable.....oh wait.
Well I’m helping him work on that second million. Sent a check today.
It would be interesting to know just how much of that came from small doners. If the bulk of it did then it bodes well for Cruz’s ability to keep up with the Bush’s and Walker’s and their establishment money machines.
I contributed 1/10,000th of that!
Actually the original report said “more than a million”. Could be a lot more than a single million.
This is great news - cause this is our last chance at avoiding a civil war.
After obuttmouth, there might even be enough votes to overcome the massive vote fraud that will be encouraged in the next election....
Here is the money quote:
-snip-
While initial media reports detailed Cruz raising $500,000 on the first day, the candidate actually reached the $1 million marker near 2:30 A.M. Tuesday, just past the first crucial 24 hours since the campaign’s launch on Twitter midnight Monday.
An avalanche of small dollar donations goosed the top line, according to data provided exclusively to U.S. News by the Cruz campaign.
Two-thirds of Cruz’s initial contributions were under $100. Checks of less than $250 amounted to 95 percent of Cruz’s rush to his first million.

My first choice is Scott Walker, but Ted Cruz is definitely someone who knows the issues.
I wish him great success. Heck, we may give to his campaign, too. :-)
I can respect that as nationally most conservatives only know him from his actions in the senate and haven’t fully researched the guy. As a Texan I have been paying attention since his Senate run and I don’t have any reservations about him.
There was a detailed analysis of the Cruz web site contributions from his 3 recent speeches....as far as I recall it was mostly small donors....
will see if I can find it and link.
