Vanity: Opinion/Experience with PC-Matic - is it good?

Posted on 03/23/2015 5:18:48 PM PDT by Maceman

What are your views on PC-Matic? Is it something that you use or would use on your computer? I'll really appreciate some advice (other than "Get a Mac").

Thanks.

Sure it's good.

It's good at putting your money in their pockets.

But that's about it.

Except everything said is recorded for posterity.
That’s what makes it so dangerous, LOL.

If you are running Windows 7 or later and have eliminated all spyware via malwarebytes, there really isn’t much else you can do to make the internet faster. Most other PC performance issues are related to crapware or too many other unnecessary programs or toolbars that are installed. Do some searches on the internet and save the money.

The vega matic was pretty cool. But not know what it is I would hesitate to buy anything that sounds like it would be sold on infomercials after 1pm.
I’ll look it up.

CCleaner - Free
Defraggler - Free
AVG Antivirus - Free
Malwarebites - Free

No clashes, no problems. Have had me covered for years. Free. Added malware bites (excellent program) when my son downloaded a NASTY malware program called Cloud Scout that created pop ups I couldn’t believe. AVG didn’t see it. First and only time he has or will use this puter.

Funny, I bought in today! I ordered 80$ worth of PC Matic!

A few years ago it was stunning what improvement I had with PC Matic, in my desktop. After it downloaded today, I saw not one bit of improvement! 50.00 for one desktop computer, and 30.00 for protection.

I have a brand new computer and know nothing about setting them up. Mine came with MacAfee and that is about it. Politico and Lucianne take FOREVERRRRR to load. FR works like a charm. Surfing the net from my “favorites” bar is soooo hit and miss with forever loading time on certain sites that I couldn’t stand it.

It is like this computer CAME with a virus! I hate it. PC was no help on my loading time or speed from some sites to another.

Bottom line— you can download PC Matic for free for 30 days.

No.

Just no.

the question you mean to ask is “How can I protect my computer from malware/viruses?”

CCleaner from Piriform is freeware, cleans up registry, temp files etc.

that and the free version of Avast antivirus and you are pretty good to go.

you can do most of the things you can also do in windows system tools from the program as well.

as another poster also said, getting rid of all the junk toolbars and stuff is a great place to start too, and CCleaner interface does that too, although I prefer to use windows uninstall myself.

Use security essentials for free and spend your money on a Bass-o-matic.

That's some good bass!
