This is EXACTLY what works in the modern, poorly-educated, short attention span people that make up the electorate in America today. Romney was a boring detail guy who just couldn’t fight the Progressive rhetoric. If we are going to win, we need an oversimplifier and exaggerator, a person who can fight over-the-top rhetoric with over-the-top rhetoric.
Actually, it gets better than that. Cruz is excellent at tailoring his talk to the people listening, so he's able to simplify his message when talking to a large crowd, yet give the technical details when it's in a courtroom. He is great at connecting with his audience, AND delivering his message.
