“...too conservative...”

That is exactly what this nation needs...down with the liberals and their socialist ideals....I pray this nation can turn the tide and reclaim the necessary morals and norms that made us the nation that we have all come to love.

To bring back competition - to bring back treating each other with respect - wanting to achieve - to become better - to live life with the desire to move forwards...

These last 6 yrs have been a waste — I hope the next 2 will demonstrate why no one should ever elect a democrat or RINO - EVER!

A Cruz/Walker ticket would be powerful. Especially after 8 years of Obama.

I think the nation is sick of progressivism.

LOL @ Huckabee and Santorum being his Christian CONSERVATIVE competition.

Scott Walker’s father is a minister and Walker is just as Conservative as Huckabee, (if not more) and Santorum is tiresome and ought to have the good sense to not run again.

Conservatism is conservatism, and Cruz is a conservative. He doesn’t have to test the limits. It’s the faint of heart GOP who wants to redefine conservatism into something it isn’t who need to test their limitations.

The Left, Progressives, Dems, and ‘moderate’ Pubbies are reeling from Cruz’s Shock and Awe.

Good thing they are mostly writing him off and not seriously considering him as a viable candidate.

So what if he is the only one to officially announce.

the first-term senator from Texas offered himself as the pure essence of conservatism and challenged the tea party and evangelical wings of the Republican Party to rise up behind one of their own and take control of the party and the country.

That's exactly what he did and the country WILL rise up behind him.

My point (and tag line) has been that, given the demographic trends, whites no longer can afford to split their vote. They need to unify to some extent around a candidate in November. 55/45 Republican may have worked ok 50 years ago, when just about the only people voting were whites, but it doesn’t stand a chance today. Even 60/40 Republican is probably not enough. 65/35 Republican is now the white vote required for a Republican to win.

How to get that vote: You don’t get it by sounding like a Democrat, because the whites on the margin will then simply vote Democrat, as they will always have more handouts to offer. You get that by making whites feel proud of the candidate and country (in a non-racist way, of course), and only a conservative can do that. We will get castigated for doing it, but we will lose if we don’t - so we have no choice.

Otherwise we’ll simply keep repeating 2008/2012 over and over.
