I’ll bet it hurt sales. Almost anything a commercial operation does that is social and outside its normal business is bound to annoy one group or another. However, I doubt Starbucks had a large number of conservative customers anyway.

I bet they got feedback like, "Why did you write that crap on my cup? Give me another one."

I don't seek out Starbucks, but if they're handy and I want coffee, I'll get a cup. They seem to be in a lot of public spaces now, not just their own storefronts. Hospitals, malls, etc.

But I wouldn't want to carry that around with me.

Steve Jobs’ policy was that Apple would not promote GOP or Democrat issues and make Apple politically orientated ... because, he said ... Apple sells to Republicans and Democrats!

If I can get the soda jerks at Starbucks to pay attention to my order in ANY case, I’m having success.

Get them to quit socializing back there and they’ll see profits go up even more.

And they could shut up and wash the front window and door once a week or every day. For what I pay them, instead of never

Shit up and get our coffee

Sometimes it’s “the only show in town” for folks who need their coffee. This was enough to drive even those customers away and it was noticeable.

It probably didn't hurt business much, since Starbuck's customers are generally mindless acolytes of the burnt coffee cult, immune to taste and reason. But I imagine they got some pretty discouraging blow-back from the idiots who just go there for the pretense and don't want to be bothered otherwise.

True - but liberals are thin skinned - they can dish it out but 'can't take it' if you know what I mean ... One conservative yucking it up and laughing at them would be enough for them to avoid Starbucks.

Starbucks accidentally opened up the discussion to people outside the little world of liberal elites - that was the problem.

I can assure you, it was killing sales.

In fact, I’d say it was probably the most successful boycott since the Chick-Fil-A buycott.

(and of course that wasn’t gonna make news)

Full disclosure: I frequent SB for specialty coffees for home and transit

I kept an eye on 3 different Starbucks on my work commute over the past week here in the deep blue commonwealth of Massachusetts. ALL had much slower traffic over the past week than normal. All that was needed was to look through the windows and/or drive throughs. It was dead.

Trust me folks, this one pissed off just as many liberals. You see, most libs ARE racists, and really don’t wanna be reminded of it when they’re getting coffee.

I suspect the big share holders saw the receipts for one week... and I would have loved to had NSA’ed they had with phone teleconference with Howie Schultz.

Ha!
