Will a driverless car be stopped by the Border Patrol at checkpoints?

Can it cross into Canada and Mexico without stopping?

Will a cop ask, “If you have nothing to hide ...?”

Is it subject to asset forfeiture?

Who gets the ticket if it is speeding; in fact, how does it know to pull over for lights or siren?

It will soon be possible to put the kids in the car and send them to grandma.

The “Driverless Car” has a driver:
“...There will be a driver in the car ready to take over if need be.
The driver can take control of the car immediately in case of emergency...”

A human could jeopardize the mission.

Just saying.

Well, once we’re all moved into the town center and the 250 sq/ft apartments, we’ll have no need for cars anyway. Right? That’s only for “special” people.

Great news if you want the government driving your car.

This will be great for the government when nobody’s car will go anywhere near the concentration camps. Will keep those pesky dissenting citizens out of the jailers’ hair.

Is there zero commonsense about this? Just imagine someone loading a driverless car full of explosives and sending it on its way to any programmed destination.

How does the driverless car operate? does it have a computer chip in it? does it get directions on where to go from internet map sites? What if something malfunctions?

This really gives Progressives a sexual thrill. Think of being able to pre-program automobile travel!

Libs aren't good drivers as it is, since it requires more concentration than they are equipped with, so the least distracting opinion, say a question about chem trails on NPR, and they rear end a school bus.

I read that they've scheduled it to be displayed at the NY Auto Show early next month.I'll be attending the show (as I always do) and will make sure to give it a least a quick peek (after I've checked out the $500K Benzes).

So a month from now the driverless car shows up filthy, splattered with blood and with body parts sticking out of the grill.

I'll be impressed when a driver-less car drives up and down Interstate I95 North of the City of Philadelphia for one year.
This is a high fatality route where you can be driving at 65 mph and be confronted with a wall of stopped cars, while the cars behind you are barreling down on you.
I have driven that highway for 18 months and I have had to make evasive maneuvers to avoid getting rear ended at high speed.

IF this works, I can see it being useful for blind people, but I have serious doubts

How will it fill itself up with fuel? And if it has a backup driver, what’s the use of the car driving itself?

obvious question is how will this car travel across country on one tank of gas? How will it get gas in many states that don’t have an attendant to pump gas, and even ones that do, how will the driverless car PAY for the gas?
