Exactly, what was wrong with the old system for immigrants?
Each of my 4 grand parents were immigrants.. all hard working, learned the English language, even forbid their native tongue. .. Italian and German to be spoken in the home by my parents though my dad was encouraged to sign opera. (and not so well)...
When I assess the taxes paid, military service rendered and businesses started by my brothers, sisters and cousins, one would be tempted to ask to go to the front of the line but would not dare ask such a self serving thing.
Many Mexican families I know are hard working, good people and do give me confidence in what they could offer our country but they should all start at the back of the line like all other immigrants that have come here.
That's called the Rule of Law. It's a quaint, outdated concept that has no place in today's America.
