It is, I will grant, a little remarkable how much 0bama has come to love his drones given that he was so critical of Bush for, well, for nearly everything. "I'm good at killing people," quoth he. Not really. Like most cowardly despots, he's good at ordering it done.

It boggles the mind to read such childish “Narnia” type drivel. And yes, that’s just what it is.
Children want things peaceful. They don’t understand the complexities of the adult world. If only the fighting would stop. If only there were peace on earth.
Adults want the same thing. Witness the Miss America pageant. It has almost become a right of passage for the contestants to add, “...and world peace.” One could say simpleton, but it is human nature to want order, or peace. It’s only natural.
As children grow up, they learn that alliances and efforts to destabilize governments around the world, are geopolitical things we can not ignore. We cannot afford to see major players convert regions to their will, and against the will of ‘the West’.
The West wants please. It realizes that if other nations play nice, it’s better for everyone. The economic ties to China is a good example. We have two different ideologies, but as world players, we are willing to conduct peaceful relations. (to the extent of idiocy I might add, but that is a topic for another commentary)
On the other hand, China is not intent on peace. Sooner or later we will have to confront it. When we do, things will get ugly. If we don’t, things will get even uglier.
If we confront overseas, we don’t have to confront at our borders or in our interior. That is what we try to avoid by engaging overseas.
Sure it would be nice if we could dissolve our military, withdraw to our borders, and live in peace forever. If we tried just that, it wouldn’t be twenty years before we would be fighting a war on our own soil, fighting for our very existence.
So sure, we want world peace. We would love to say no to wars. And by fighting overseas, we are saying no to wars. We are saying now to the worst kind, the ones in downtown New York, downtown Houston, downtown San Diego, downtown Seattle, Downtown San Francisco... and on and on the examples could go...
Simplistic pie in the sky articles like this are downright dangerous. There are enough Leftists in this nation trying to peddle this agenda, so we will lower our guard. We have a president right now we are trying to survive, who buys into it lock stock and barrel.
As he reduces our military, he helps other enemies of the U. S. build their strength.
Cutting our military is not a realization of a peace dividend. It is an investment in a future war on our soil.
I genuinely just wanted input because this is the basic argument of most of my liberal friends. The author’s premise, I reject. I simply wanted to hear everybody’s input.

When your war machine is run by political correctness and social engineering busybodies, the Rules of Engagement are unworkable at best, and self defeating at worst.
Bring back the General Patton types and you’ll see a lot more peace around the world.
