I didn't put this on the Religion Forum because there are decidedly this-worldly things more people ought to look at:
- the dehumanizing impact of artificial reproductive technologies which turn kids into products in a commercial transaction;
- the way IVF paved the way for reproductive concubinage (surrogate mothering), which in turn
- left the door wide open for gay men to order babies for themselves via the babymaking marketplace;
- the way every aspect of both artificial contraception AND artificial reproduction, serves to weaken the procreative mean8ng of sexual union, erode the essential bond between a man and a woman, and splinter children away from natural families.
Discuss?

“Singer Elton John, who used IVF technology to get two sons with his partner David Furnish...”
That’s not possible. Written poorly.

I thought it was an excellent article that followed through with conclusions that explained why things that look good can, indeed, hurt us as a society.

One of the greatest shortcomings in the last century is that we accelerated the creation of technology without the morality to properly control it. While true with IVF and other artificial reproductive technologies, it is not limited to these tech issues. How to use the tech was done with an utilitarian approach instead of a moral approach.
Essentially, while man’s technology increased, he did not become any wiser.
On a personal note, good to see you back on the forum.

We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed. Domenico Dolce added, You are born to a mother and a father or at least thats how it should be. I call the children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog. Queers they may be, but they have this very right. I would caveat, though that the crime is committed by the adults, not the children. People may use reprehensible means to procreate children (fornication comes to mind, along with the misuses of technology referenced in the article ...), and are responsible for their sins. Calling the children artificial, though, is no more helpful than calling them bastards.
