WASHINGTON Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus surprise landslide re-election led the headlines in American media early Wednesday morning, with many outlets playing up Netanyahus statements during the final days of campaigning and suggesting that US-Israel relations could hit a new low.
As returns came in, outlets like CNN were forced to do a quick headline reversal, from Netanyahu to Lose? to Netanyahu Claims Victory.
Leading with the headline Bibi Back, the Huffington Post consolidated a number of headlines, including a New York Times report that described the recent campaign as bruising and warned that Netanyahu had offended many voters and alienated allies en route to his upset victory.
The Washington Post also played up Netanyahus unexpected comeback, emphasizing that pundits were beginning to write the first drafts of Netanyahus political obituary before the results began to come in Tuesday night. Many major outlets attempted to explain the coalition-building process that will now ensue to readers accustomed to a two-party system.
Beyond his surprise triumph, a major focus of coverage was the international price for Netanyahus sharp turn rightward on the campaign trail his backtracking on the establishment of a Palestinian state and his renewed commitment to expanding construction in areas of Jerusalem across the 1967 lines.

Everything Dorkbama touches turns to shi...er...Obamastuff.
In case you haven’t noticed....................
......The ‘press’ damn near EVERY(BLEEPING)WHERE is totally leftist and in the tank for the ummah.
So, STOP BELIEVING, already.
That is the kind of embarrassment they suffer when they get the news dictated by the White House and sent into their newsroom. Obama did not even hide his scorn of Netanahu; no attempt at deniability. Obama now looks like an international meddler who failed, or worse. He is certainly not a statesman among world leaders.
I wish Bibi could arrest the American subversion squad for illegal campaign tactics or dirty tricks.
Well, I just read somewhere that Obama didn’t congratulate Netanyahu for his win ... BUT INSTEAD ... he congratulated the Israeli people for voting ... LOL ...
Last night when I got home, all of the cable news nets, including Fox, were touting headlines that it was “too close to call” and “headed for hanging chads”.
I flipped over to Jewish Life TV, and they were running a live feed of Israeli TV coverage. Bibi was in the middle of his victory speech. Herzog had conceded.
Media malpractice on parade.
The media was pushing the narrative of Bibi being behind in the polls and almost guaranteed to lose the election. The fact that he won is a direct repudiation of the turd in the white house and his media whores.
