Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is about as partisan a Democrat as there is in this country. But to win a second term and avoid a humiliating defeat, he'll need to win over and turn out the small number of Republicans in the city.
Emanuel isn't openly telegraphing his runoff strategy, but signs of his reliance on the party he has worked to oppose his whole career are everywhere. Gov. Bruce Rauner, a longtime acquaintance of the mayor's, has been working behind the scenes to help his friend, while GOP Sen. Mark Kirk warned this month that Chicago could become like Detroit if Emanuel isn't reelected. Rahm's most recent ad comes straight out of the Mitt Romney playbook, accusing his outspokenly liberal opponent, Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, of wanting to hike Chicagoans' taxes by supporting $1.9 billion in spending programs. Several of the top donors to Emanuel's Chicago Forward super PAC are conservative Republicans, including hedge-fund manager Ken Griffin, a top Romney supporter and a Crossroads contributor, and investor Muneer Satter, who spent more than $1 million over the past few years on behalf of top Republican candidates and is backing Jeb Bush's campaign for president.

The Democrat Tutu Ballerina needs help, huh?
I say the sooner we stomp out vestiges of the Clinton and Obama lackey ghouls, the better.
As regards Chicago politics, I’m with Old King Log - “let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out.” There is no saving Chicago until the festering boil of leftism is fully erupted and seen for what it is. The quicker this is done, the better. Vote Chuy!
Nothing like politics to make strange bedfellows.
In the prophetic words of the late Bernard Epton, “it’s too late”.

I hope the Repubs let RE lose to the leftist. Let the leftists have Chicago and run it into the ground; let it be another example of liberal failure.
He can just have Jebbie fly into Chicago and say something nice about machine politics and win again easily.
Now Rahm is in a humiliating position----in obeisance to Republicans---sucking-up for support...
(cough) "raising money" from wealthy Republicans. Wonder what fund-raising pitches Rahm is using?
What’s left of Republicans in the city limits fall into two classes - big money Republicans and blue-collar Republicans. The former Emanuel has always had in his pocket, and by-and-large, they’re no problem because they understand the crony capitalism that allows slime like him to maintain power. The latter see him as a vindictive little sh*t, and hate him viscerally (just read some cop blogs); he only needs their votes, but he won’t get them, and the best he can do is keep them from voting for a socialist like Chuy.
So the question comes down to whether Tiny Dancer can parlay his enormous campaign stash into enough votes from the underclass and enough vote suppression from the shrinking middle class to defeat a lame-*ssed bozo so far to the left that he wouldn’t even be viable if Emanuel wasn’t so thoroughly despised.
"Several of the top donors to Emanuel's Chicago Forward super PAC are conservative [sic] Republicans, including hedge-fund manager Ken Griffin, a top Romney supporter and a Crossroads {co-founder Rove} contributor, and investor Muneer Satter, who spent more than $1 million over the past few years on behalf of top Republican candidates and is backing Jeb Bush's campaign for president."
I’ll vote for him if he answers all the Obama questions honestly. If he gets Obama DNA for a paternity test on those girls. If he has a logical explanation for the mysterious black hand in the airport picture.
