YOUR RELIGION, NOT MINE
"Religion is a great force, the only real motive force in the world. But you must get at [someone] through [her/his] own religion, not yours." -- George Bernard Shaw
Real wisdom here; real insight. The adage presupposes the benefits of faith, but it nicely understands that faith is a personal matter unique to each individual. This is not to subvert the strength of organized or institutional religions, but rather to highlight the personal element each must bring to belief. Faith groups, temples, churches, creeds, doctrines, organizations . . . all of these are important, and offer valued aspects of faith and religion. Many of us could share with you how a particular faith practice nourishes us in living deep and spiritual lives, but we could not give you the precise faith-package that would fit you. Each of us has a personal journey of experience that begets a personal faith. The greater challenge in journeying with others in their spiritual journey is to assist them in finding their own faith. Perhaps it will be Catholic or Jewish or Baptist or any of the other world religions, but it will also be particularly their own. God calls and forms each of us in individual, unique ways. What is most important is that each of us discern God's spirit working in our lives, and who and how that Spirit is shaping and challenging us. This is not an endorsement of "to each their own" selfishness or self-centeredness, but rather an endorsement of the fact that God calls each of us, and forms each of us, with particular attentiveness and tenderness. The spiritual challenge is to ask the question, "Why me God, and why in this particular way?" The answer for each of us, the faith of each of us, will be as various as the fishes of the deep or the birds of the air. LT Kermit Holl, CHC, USNR

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to the MacNessa family.
Everyone in good health? Any projects this weekend?
It was 8 degrees at 11:a5 this morning when I took my Mom to the doctor...bone density test. Beautiful blue sky, but the slight breeze really makes if cold!

We have several projects pending, some of which may actually get done this weekend. We bought a new fridge last week - at 67 years old I finally own a side-by-side with through the door ice maker and water dispenser. I went to Lowe's today and bought the kit to install it - that will happen tomorrow with the help of my BIL. We have a Kohler toilet ready to install in the first floor bathroom - we're coordinating that with replacement of the floor tiles and baseboards. Finally we just bought some wainscoting for the entry foyer and kitchen - a mid-tone cherry that I think will really look good.

I haven’t been to a garage sale in months, as I quit ebay back in October 2014 when they unilaterally imposed a whole new draconian set of restrictions on sellers, making it impossible for a “little guy” like me to make money.
I should still go check them out occasionally, as musical equipment is something I can repair, restore, and sell to students and musician friends.
It will just be me and the drummer tomorrow, as the guitar player has family obligations. Sometimes i don’t mind, because i just ‘do my own thing”.
Ankle is better, wrist still hurts, but I am doing PT.
I can feel the improvement, but it’s very gradual!
