'Racism is not a figment of our imagination': Springfield (MA) leaders respond to Ferguson report,
The Republican ^

Posted on 03/13/2015 11:18:44 AM PDT by matt04

...

Bishop Talbert Swan II, pastor of the Spring of Hope Church Of God In Christ and president of the Greater Springfield chapter of the NAACP, said the report does not reveal anything new for the African American community.

"The report reveals an atmosphere in the city that the majority of the African American community knew existed, but many outside the community were in denial of," Swan said.

...

Swan said he wrote a letter to Mayor Domenic J. Sarno in the wake of the Ferguson incident last year requesting that a commission be formed to look at what elements created the racial tension in Ferguson and to come up with proactive ways to prevent that here.

On Aug. 21, 2014 Sarno responded to Swan's letter citing the work of the mayor's Violence Prevention Task Force, the C3 Policing method being used to build trust between police and residents in the North End and other initiatives.

"Communication and engagement between the community and law enforcement is vital to build a foundation of mutual trust and respect," the mayor wrote, and he continues to stand by the statement to this day.

"I still feel his response was basically to dismiss my request and talk about all the things he is doing to curb gang violence, which missed the mark completely. My concern is what elements exist that create racial tension between law enforcement and community and municipal government and the community, and they are not willing to have that conversation," he said. "My hope is that it does not take a blowup like Ferguson before we really sit down and have a candid conversation about how to deal with racial tension in our city."

Nice city you have, be a shame if anything bad were to happen to it.

Sound like the first step in setting up an bunch of Ferguson type riots. This stuff is all orchestrated and contrived.

Racism keeps millions of Americans in fear for their lives if they get caught in the wrong part of town after dark, or stop at the wrong McDonalds, or in just about any situation where black racists will attack them.

These leftwingers need to decide something: are whites so awful to blacks that they just need to be separated, or would that just be another form of oppression? Until I hear these dimwits address that, I will not take them seriously.

No, you don’t want a conversation, because in a conversation, both sides get to voice their opinions. You just want to lecture white people while ignoring their point of view.

This guy’s ‘proof’ is a bunch of emails sent to him by the DNC to gin up black rage? AND on the ‘other’ side we have a city burned down and police officers shot?

Yeah, JUST based on Ferguson it looks like a lot of blacks are bad people.

I suppose there’s a discomfort factor because loud, vulgar, uncivilized, criminal negros insist on imposing themselves upon whites. Good grief negros can’t even get along with negros...they have serious social skill deficiencies that make them loathsome to be around.

I suppose that makes me racist but I thought I put it out there before the negro loving Feds with they’re mafia-like strong arm, pit bull unelected ABC regulatory agencies start monitoring the net for proper PC.

In spite of all the constitutional legal guarantees given up to accommodate them it seems every day brings more negro drama.

Any black pastor who isn’t preaching forgiveness from the pulpit every Sunday morning is part of the problem.
Any black pastor who lives out a life of forgiveness will be surprised to see how rapidly racism disappears.
Nobody has a right to freedom from persecution by foolish individuals. The state can only make certain behaviors unlawful, it cannot legislate feelings, and racism is a feeling, a belief.
Something tells me Jesus would tell the reverend to get the log out of his own eye and clean up his community before hecriticizes whitey. That is the dialogue on race he doesn’t want to have.

Another product of the Democrap engineered socialist Holocaust. How about the retired corrections office who shot the punk in the subway the other day? The punk was out walking the street with convictions for robbery, assault, drugs, arrested 23 times. But no more, ever again. He picked on the wrong guy. Or I should say, the right guy who did the city a favor. Freakin’ liberal Judges. Reminds me of another punk last year who walking the streets after 20 arrests for robbery, car theft drugs, and he robbed and stomped to death a 68 year old Asian man. Like I said: It’s a Democrat engineered Holocaust. Punks who should be locked up until the next century are walking around all over that city.

I suffer from CRFS (Chronic Racial Fatigue Syndrom).

I am no longer interested in ANY such conversation and I don’t respond well to threats. Deal with it.

You know, that is exactly what I was thinking. The was the leftist continue to portray it, it really isn’t lefties who are racists, after all they’re the ones who are marching, and screaming, “RACIST” all the time.

This begs the question. What - really - is the end game here? I mean the Left. along with Blacks, continue to tell everyone about “white privilege”, and how we’re all closet racists. Yet we never hear what they want or what they propose.

What exactly is it that they think everyone must do to end racism and to make atonement for all the perceived injustice that Blacks ostensibly face every waking moment of their pitiable lives?

I never hear any specifics, but I always hear the left impugning everyone else regardless of any facts.

So I ask, what is it that we must do?

I have a strong suspicion the answer to my question involves the surrender of massive amounts of Constitutional rights and property (see Robert Mugabe and South Africa) before anyone would even remotely be appeased. Even then it won’t stop. These people have become totally delusional and deranged.
