The faux ‘conservative’ denied Terry Schiavo water
and drank champagne as she died of thirst and
salient judicial abuse.

My sentiments exactly! Really, Jeb Bush is the best the establishment RINO’s can come up with?

Talk about scrapping the bottom of the barrel!!

On one more thing Jonah (ra ra for RINO’s) Goldberg said: he is a conservative! Jonah wouldn't’ know a conservative if one walked up to him and slapped in the face! This is the same guy who attacked the tea party as extremist! When in fact they are the true conservatives who demand our elected officials follow the restraints in the US constitution and then people like Jonah then calls them “extremist!”

So, if I understand Jonah Goldberg's theory of extremist; anyone who is elected to office who operates within the confines of the US constitution is an extremist and anyone (tea party) who demands that their elected officials follow the US constitution is then an extremist!

Jeb Bush is a good candidate because he supports open borders, common core, and is working to get elected without white tea parties in the United States is supported by Jonah and the other old media and Fox News!

Have I got that right?

Not drivel, actually.

I see what Jonah’s doing here. And it’s not speaking to you, me or most other Freepers.

What he’s doing is speaking to GOPe-ers who do see Bush as a Conservative and also see him as an establishment security blanket who brings lots of money and high name ID to what looks to be a winnable race.

So he starts off by validating their perceptions of Bush, in a rhetorical hook.

He THEN seems to make the case that, in addition to a Conservative the GOP also needs a CHANGE candidate. Which Bush is definitely not.

Now, that starting point doesn’t fly for us. But it will for dome GOP primary voters and might for a lot more. IMHO the most effective argument to convincing many GOP primary voters to vote for Cruz or Walker isn’t to attack Bush for being GOPe, or a moderate or a Liberal, but for being ... stale. In an election that requires motivation and excitement.

If the choice comes down to Bush versus Clinton, the conservative cause would be advanced by another Bush presidency far more than it would be advanced by another Clinton presidency.

The conservative cause will only be advanced when the GOPe finally waves the white flag and admits that they can't win elections (nor should they) unless they adopt the conservative cause.

Unbelievable that every single conservative did not learn that lesson after watching the Republican performance since the 2014 mid-term landslide win.

I think conservatives will stay home in huge numbers in 2016 unless a bona fide conservative wins the nomination.

I know I will.

When Dauphin Bush floods America with at least 30 million more immigrants over a decade there will be no more conservative cause to advance

just another bob dole waiting for his turn.

I'd say that's an excellent characterization. (Has he got a erectile disfunction medicine endorsement yet?) I don't dislike the guy as much as most FReepers, but I sue don't want him as the next R POTUS candidate.

We differ. I don’t believe in giving any semblance of conservatism to any BUSH, even when it might suit some more convoluted purpose.

You show him up for what he is - a dynastic privileged legacy with outright non-sovereign leanings. The very idea of him speaking only-Spanish in his home is a personal effrontery to me, frankly. It speaks of an unclear loyalty which lacks a dogged conservative nationalism that I’d DEMAND from a candidate.

I’m not into nuance and convolution. I’m into trashing him hard, fast and permanently - the sooner the better, now rather than later.

conservative governor

Conservative? Like his Bro who sold himself as a 'compassionate' conservative?

An article a few weeks ago said Jeb was a 'reformer conservative' [whatever the H that means].

If Jeb is such a 'conservative', why did he consult with McCain recently on how to the the nomination by circumventing the party conservatives?

He’s a conservative.

Right there in the first lines the author tells us he has nothing useful to say. When you start an analysis by proffering a fiction as an accepted truth, your prose is going nowhere.

Right. Jeb is no George W bush and doesn’t connect well with people. Despite my political disagreements at least I always liked W and he was funny in his own way. He had personality. I would love to down a few beers with him. Jeb also is not slick like Romney. As much as I despised Romney I thought he spoke well.

Jeb has none of these talents. What you’re left with is just another opportunistic RINO waiting in line. pathetic

I’ve said the same thing, I think W would be a great next door neighbor (if I could afford the neighborhood).

If you had read the article Jonah made a case for NOT nominating jeb because he would lose. He made a case for Walker and possibly Rubio but I believe he missed it by not taking a better look at Senator Cruz. Among other things he stated that the Bush name would unify democrats and divide Republicans and that jeb had real problems with the Republican base, Conservatives, and was not doing anything to heal the division, he also mentioned that part of this was his liberal stand on amnesty.
