I don’t understand why it can’t be a heroin overdose.... people accidentally overdose themselves every day for “fun” because it feels good. Then we wouldn’t have any of this debate over cruelty or pain... just a dead bad guy. Or why not what they give to put cats and dogs to sleep? I’ve been through that a number of times and it is quick and seems like the animal doesn’t suffer at all, just drifts quickly off and the heart stops beating.

I’m with you. Brutal, barbaric? Good. Then maybe some of these animals will think twice about committing the crime in the first place. I get it that some people lack empathy and will do whatever to whomever gets in their way. But the element of self preservation comes into play here. Even if they don’t give a rip about their victims, the desire to avoid a brutal death may act as a deterrent.
