By Election Day 2016, taxpayers will have paid out more than $16 million to fund Bill Clinton’s pension, travel, office expenses and even the salaries and benefits of staff at his family’s foundation, federal records show. Since he left the White House in 2001, Clinton and his office have received more money through the Former Presidents Act than any other ex-president, according to a POLITICO analysis of budget documents.

Royalty in all but name, in a former republic. After doing probably irreparable harm, our street negro muslim president will enjoy the same despotic pleasures.

On a related topic, regarding leftist charges of treason against pubbie senators, recall that treason in western kingdoms involved a direct threat to the person of the monarch, or his authority. IOW, treason threatens the sovereign or his authority. In a similar vein, treason in the United States also involved assault against the sovereign, meaning We The People.

The Obamanation has reverted our concept of treason to a pre-constitutional form, in which it meant an assault on one man, the monarch.

By charging senators with treason for interfering with the authority of Obama, the Left has implicitly raised Obama to the level of sovereign. We The People are no longer the sovereign. Sovereignty resides in the PERSON of Obama.

Future elections can only serve to condone Obama's designated successor.

Seems a lot lower than I would expect. But not surprised since the folks doing the accounting are government employees.

With the possible exception of Truman and Carter, modern Presidents have been wealthy, or acquired great wealth soon after leaving office. I can see the logic of providing exiting Presidents a modest retirement pension, Secret Service protection for up to 10 years after leaving office, and some clerical assistance during a 2-3 years transition period. Giving multimillionaires additional millions from the public treasury is not justified.

Congress should rewrite the law to give retiring Presidents:
1) Annual pension of $100,000. This is double the average household income in the US.
2) Office and transition expenses not to exceed $2 million per year for up to three years after leaving office. This will give them the staff to process correspondence and review paperwork.
3) Secret Service protection for up to ten years after leaving office (President and spouse).
4) First class transportation from the White House, on the day their replacement takes office, to any destination they choose inside the borders of the United States of America.

What would be the justification for anything else?
