I'd love to see Valarie Jarrett end up like Haman.

If you're talking about Islam the "violent perversion" is the religion.

The author has fallen prey to the wrong-headed notion that Islam is anything other than what is clearly stated in the Koran and what is personified today in ISIL. Some professing Mohammedans choose to act with civility and human kindness yet that is in clear contrast to the command to either convert or kill infidels. There are no other options.

The Esther story has fascinated scholars throughout history because it doesn't show God at work in miracles (He is never mentioned in the Bible account), but emphasizes the way man, with all his vulnerabilities, conflicts and flaws, can confront and defeat evil. "God helps those who help themselves," schoolchildren of an earlier era were taught.

The story shows things that scarcely reflected a "help themselves" attitude, such as the fasting of Esther and her maids.

Esther revealed herself to her husband as a Jewess, exposed Haman’s plot, and the king sent Haman to a gallows Haman had erected to kill Jews. Esther is honored among Jews for saving the race, and she is honored by Christians as well.

BTTT!
