Ferguson's Conspiracy Against Black Citizens (Atlantic carrying Holder's water)
The Atlantic ^ | 03/05/2015 | Conor Friedersdorf

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the killing of Michael Brown, many black residents of Ferguson, Missouri, immediately thought that he was the victim of a wrongful death at the hands of police officer Darren Wilson, who shot him after a scuffle.

The bad white folks make him take drugs, rob stores, and pick fights with cops.

Look, for what ever reason it appears that blacks are breaking the law 6 times more than others. 1% of the population are young black males who are responsible for 25% of the murder in the United states.

Taking that into account, is Ferguson by statistics so out of the normal range? If not then don’t make believe all races are responsible for the same amounts of crime, because they are not.

IMO because a failure within the family.

I seem to recall reading numerous derogatory comments on Free Republic about police officers whose primary function is to raise revenue through fines for trivial offenses. Or am I imagining this?

Psst, pssssttt, NAACP, I hear that this was just the beginning of the Democrats war on black Americans. Democrats are pushing black Americans aside to make way for illegal aliens from Mexico

Just look at all the money the democrats are giving them while black Amernicans get nuffin!

That’s hardly the same as calling a normal street cop (not a SWATter) kill happy.

They got to be miffed. The darlings of yesterday are not the darlings of today. The mantras are mouthed, but the sincerity is gone.

After reading the article, it actually is a pretty strong indictment for a revenue driven PD that is out of control in general, but the racial drivel is just that. I almost busted a gut when I read the following:

These disparities are also present in FPD’s use of force. Nearly 90% of documented force used by FPD officers was used against African Americans. In every canine bite incident for which racial information is available, the person bitten was African American.

Even the dogs are racist!!

No you're not imagining it.

If any of Holders' accusations are true, it should certainly be dealt with.
If the police harassment of blacks are a bad as he says, we whites ought to stand with the blacks of Fergusson.
After all, we are not friends of brutal cops getting out of hand here, regardless of race.
We object to bad cops and support good cops. It's that simple.

On the other hand, I have a very hard time trusting Holder after all the crap he's foisted on us before.
Is the problem as systemic as he says, has he been cherry-picking anecdotal evidence?
After all, 0bamas latest push is to Federalize the police.
This report could be just to play into his hands.
If you want to curb an alleged corrupt heavy handed police force, the last thing you want is to make it even more powerful.

FreeRepublic's got a wide range of conservatives... Some pure libertarians might do away with police departments altogether.

That said, there are problems with policing in black communities.

Police are stepping in and taking up the slack of missing fathers and husbands.

Little Leroy is threatening his mama if she doesn't give him money for drugs? She calls the police. She doesn't call out to her husband in the next room - Leroy's father - because there isn't any husband/father in the next room... Police come... little Leroy is dealt with... All of us pay for the excessive disproportionate care given to the black community.

Go to any police department serving a black community and officers will know the names of people in 'the community' - who the baddies are - who the victims are - who will help or not. And they'll know them by name.

That does NOT happen in the white community or any other minority community. Cities can't afford to hire babysitters for the black community - even if they are dressed in cop uniforms. Also outside authority might be underminding what's left of black intact families.

Time for real discussions...

My post was more about cities raising money by fining motorists for everything they can think of.

Tickets are a drop in the bucket compared to police salaries and retirement packages.

The way to save money is to allocate police officers based on city blocks - not on the basis of crime. If an area uses more than their allocated police protection they can pay the difference - tacked on to their cable bill, water bill or electric bill.

I don’t ‘share’ my water bill with some guy who lives across town and leaves his outdoor hose running 24/7. Why should I pay for police protection I don’t get? If the black community wants to live high on the excitement of crime, they can pay for the priviledge.

I guess these people forgot that Democrats run everything in that county.

Whoops.
