WASHINGTON (CBS DC) Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., says every country in the Middle East will go nuclear if the U.S. makes a nuclear deal with Iran.
Speaking Monday on Fox News, McCain predicted that every country in the region is going to go nuclear if we sign this deal amid Iranian nuclear negotiations and a U.S. visit by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu making a case against such an agreement.
Every country in the region is going to go nuclear if we sign this deal. I have heard from Middle Eastern leaders direct that they will go nuclear, and you will see a nuclearization of the entire region, said McCain. And why not? And by the way the Saudis have got a lot of money. It wouldnt take much to purchase a couple of them from Pakistan.
McCain said the foreign minister of a Middle East country and other senators in Munich have told him they are beginning to believe it is far better to be an enemy of the United States than a friend thats what its becoming.
The Arizona Republican criticized the Obama administrations nuclear negotiations with Iran as a delusion, and that several Democratic lawmakers have overreacted to Netanyahus speech before Congress on Tuesday.
The delusion is that they make this nuclear deal with Iran, theres a brand new relationship with Iran, Iran and we are partners for peace throughout the Middle East, said McCain. Its crazy.
McCain continued, Bibi will make a compelling argument against the outlines of this agreement, and thats why theyre acting in such a hysterical fashion. The president and national security advisers saying this is rupturing the fabric of our relationship or something like that. This is really the worst situation by far that any of us have seen as far as U.S.-Israel relations. The only
free and democratic nation in the entire Middle East, and its very serious, and its very unfortunate.
He’s right , just as Netanyahu says
the left used to fight to not have nukes for anyone and now they are advocating for Iran to have nukes, a country which exports the most terrorism.
The Republicans should at least raise the issue that Obama plans to enter into a negotiated agreement with a foreign power and does not intend to submit it to the US Senate for review and ratification. How would such an agreement have the force of US law?
I just hate hearing it from McCain.
Good point.
You don’t hear Israel complaining about Jordan and Egypt building nuclear plants. They aren’t threatening to wipe Israel off the map.
Broken clock, blind squirrel.
They will anyway, sooner or later.
Pakistan has nukes, and they are comfortable with radical Islam.
McCain cant even make the GOP Senate go nuclear.
He appears to be right on this though.
One of the very few things that this man has gotten right!
We heard these words in a speech today, from a real leader..
A pity Israel is so vulnerable, because otherwise the prospect of a nuclear exchange between Riyadh and Tehran...well...
Query. Where we do get the right to tell other sovereign countries what to do? Do they get to tell us what to do? Does israel have nukes? How did that happen? China has nukes— Let’s attack them. Russia has nukes— Let’s attack them. How about Pakistan. They could give them to “terrorists” ( what is a “ terrorist”?) . Can China tell what is left of the USA —”you cannot have nukes!!”
Did you know that the Soviets had 5000 nukes pointed at you? They fell because they didn’t want to die. Do you think Iran is bigger and meaner than the Soviets? Did you know the Russia has nukes aimed right now at every major city in the USA ( what’s left of it). I could care less about what Iran does except I hope the new invasion of the Republican Guard in Iraq kills a bunch of head chopping bastard godless wahhabi sunnis. I don’t want to spend another penny over there.
McCain’s right about that.
why don’t you go help them
I am sure they can use your help
in lieu of our troops ....
No chance. I want to watch American idle.
How are those ‘insurgents’ and ‘freedom fighters’ working out for you, McLame?
Indeed.
FU on the wrong side of everything fossil.
