There's plenty to be mad about with Obama's executive orders on immigration. But this ruling by the IRS that illegal aliens who didn't pay any taxes or file a tax return can recieve a tax refund on monies they never paid is about as outrageous as a government action can get.
The IRS is defending its decision to let illegal immigrants claim up to three years’ refunds on income even if they never paid income taxes, telling Congress in a new letter last week that agency lawyers have concluded getting a Social Security number triggers the ability to go back and ask for previous refunds.
President Obama’s new deportation amnesty could grant Social Security numbers to as many as 4 million illegal immigrants, making many of them eligible for tax refunds under the Earned Income Tax Credit even for years when they cheated on their taxes, by working off the books and not filing tax returns.
“Section 32 of the Internal Revenue Code requires an SSN on the return, but a taxpayer claiming the EITC is not required to have an SSN before the close of the year for which the EITC is claimed,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen wrote in his letter to Sen. Charles E. Grassley on Wednesday.
The IRS’s chief lawyer had reached that conclusion in 2000, and the agency has newly confirmed it, Mr. Koskinen said.
Mr. Grassley called that a mockery of the law and said he will try to write a bill specifically prohibiting it.
“The tax code shouldn’t reward those who broke our immigration laws,” the Iowa Republican and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said in a statement.

After all, it’s those bastards who wrote the basic Tax Law ( or just wrote a law that abdicated any real responsibility for spelling out in any detail what the IRS could do). Effing Grassley should take a look in the mirror.
Gee. It’s like they rabidly clutch to laws of which they can take advantage yet have absolutely no problems in contorting, twisting and mutating others with which they do not agree.

Congress has been abdicating it’s responsibility to pass clear, unambiguous legislation for most of my lifetime. And the underlying tenets of most of our laws is to destroy our country.

The wife and I owe 5K. I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s completely outraged over this. I’m withholding my check until the last moment I can. I’m so angry over this. I bust my ass for sometimes 60 - 80 hours a week only to have a huge chunk of MY money taken from me.
It’s absolutely outrageous how far we’ve fallen.
What ever happened to when immigrants had to have a sponsor who assumed financial responsibility for them? They needed health checks, and a potential for a JOB.
It’s essentially a Democrat Party bribe to stay in the US and vote Democrat whenever possible.
The Democrats are intent on using YOUR money to bribe illegal voters to violate American law a little further.
And that’s about it.
It doubled what I usually owe. DOUBLED, Free health care my twisted testicles!
I got a return last year. This year is 250% in the opposite direction, and we didn’t change withholding allowances, we didn’t make any more money, and we have no deductions except our mortgage. It’s patently ridiculous. No wonder people prefer to be unemployed!
