You don’t call your students names and this person needs to be fired. This person can find work where loud mouths are needed, not working with kids.

If a joke it was ill considered. If there was lack of malice then a slap on the wrist should be enough. Don’t let this be turned into another cause celebre for CAIR.
As much as I dislike the current Muslim / Islam ideology and its effects around the world I would not transfer it to a student in one of my classes by saying something so unprofessional. Its not the kid’s faul he’s being raised by turban headed Taliban head lopper pedophiles..: )
