When our founders drafted the Bill of Rights and made sure to include the Second Amendmentyou know, that little bit that talks about how Americans have the right to bear armsthey had scenarios like the one that unfolded in Columbus, Ohio in mind.
A 71-year-old man had an unwelcome visitor bust down his door, but what the intruder caught a glimpse of on the other side was the last thing he ever saw.
You can guess what happened.
From 10 TV:
The shooting happened just after noon Friday on Faymeadow Avenue in North Columbus. The homeowner says a stranger kicked in his door, but didnt get any farther than that.
A body lay under a white sheet, the result of a deadly confrontation in the doorway of a Faymeadow Avenue home. The homeowner called 911, tells an operator, Some guy broke into my house, and I shot him.
Neighbors say the homeowner is a 71-year-old retiree who lives there alone.
When police arrived, they found the suspect dead on the porch. They say the door had visible evidence of someone forcing their way in. They say the homeowner stopped him with a single shot.
Somebody kicks in your door and theyre coming in your house, you dont have to wait for them to come in your house, said Columbus Police Sergeant Rich Weiner. Theres a big difference if somebodys outside and theyre 20, 30, 40 feet away and theyre not inside your residence- different story. But somebody is kicking in your door and theyre coming in, most people might consider that to be a threat and they can take action.
Im sure the guy who broke into this mans house instantly regretted choosing a life of crime over working for an honest living.
All Americans have the right to defend themselves and their property from thieves and murderers, as well as out of control tyrannical government.
That is the reason for the existence of the Second Amendment.
For some reason the concept of self-defense just doesnt click with liberals, which is why they continue their hostile assault on guns and the folks who own them.
Youd think with cases like thesewhich are becoming more commongun grabbers would finally understand that guns save lives.
Of course, progressives have never let common sense and facts get in their way before, so why start now?
Good shot Mr. Citizen. That’s close to my old stomping grounds near Ohio State. Worthington and Westerville are other towns I used to visit many decades ago.
I may not know where my teeth are but I can damned sure find my S&W.
Don’t talk to the police, ESPECIALLY don’t say that you shot someone. If you feel you must say something, say, “there’s been a shooting.”
That's me to a 'T'.
My results will be the same.
Thinking about how they can picture a situation in which the homeowner could be making it all up is fun.
Ding dong!Who's there?
Ah... ah... this Quantelle. I... I'm in need. You got anything?
Sure, Quan. Come on in.
Ah. Ah, the door locked.
That's OK, just kick it in. I've got your stuff right here.
Ah... kick it in? You want me to kick in your door?
Yeah, go ahead. I don't mind.
Ohh kay....
It’s fine to say you shot him. Just add the true fact that you thought he was about to kill you, and that you want your lawyer.
Acting cute like “somebody was shot”,,, will make them very much think something is going on. Although it isn’t vogue to say so here, cops are generally please when an old person shoots an intruder. And the VERY basic facts to sent them into your direction really is ok. The only exception is if you are in an extremely anti gun region like Chicago, New York, or Cali. Or if you gave done something stupid like set an ambush, or do like that psycho a year or so ago and give them “nice clean finishing shots” because they were suffering.
Retarded stuff like that,,, yeah, don’t talk.
He was going to kill me, I shot in self defense. Followed quickly by I need a lawyer and “i cant breathe and my chest hurts”.
“Im sure the guy who broke into this mans house instantly regretted choosing a life of crime...”
Actually, the dude chose a death from crime. Just sayin’.
I'm pretty sure that, having just defeated a tyrannical king, the founders had more in mind than simply defending against a home invastion when they crafted the Second Amendment.
Reminds me of something that happened over in Oklahoma many years ago.
A man took apart his .22 rifle to clean it. Upon reassembling it and loading it, someone kicked in his door. Bang.
And then he had to clean it again ...
He brought down the scum with a single shot. Bravo!
Would like to know the model & caliber of the homeowner’s gun. This is a real question; last week it took three rounds of .45 ACP to anchor that robber in the pharmacy who managed to return fire before he cashed out.
Seems the police made the correct call, too.
don’t mess with an Old Guy,,
Good. One less vermin who thinks he had a right to what someone else earned honestly.
The SCARY PART is that there are MILLIONS and MILLIONS of Americans that feel this was a SENSELESS KILLING and if the old guy had simply given the man what he wanted, there would be one less dead guy today. But instead (they think) the old guy played judge, jury, and executioner and shot him in COLD BLOOD.
...so the next time you think of sitting out an election, or voting third party - remember, you are ENABLING people that think this way.
What is this COP a comedian?...
He’s talking about Trayvon’s lawyer, who wouldn’t consider it to be a threat if Trayvon kicked in a door.
...so the next time you think of sitting out an election, or voting third party - remember, you are ENABLING people that think this way.
Good point... ugh... except for the massive voter fraud..
Voting could be and probably is.. just a ceremony..
And who gets elected who is supposed to get elected.. in most places..
Not everyplace.. BUT in most places.. especially on both coasts..
BUT slowly will become every place..
SINCE; republicans could care less about voter fraud..
and some places it’s encouraged..
PROOF: look at Congress..
