Duck Dynastys Phil Robertson stole the show Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, taking the conservative crowd through a spirited history lesson which included advice for GOP presidential hopefuls (keep the scandals down), quotes from and about President John Adams (He was your second president, people!"), and a lengthy warning about sexually transmitted illnesses.
Robertsons speech, which went over the time limit by about 20 minutes, got the largest crowd applause at the annual conservative gathering known as CPAC, held just outside Washington. .
Robertson also received the Andrew Breitbart Defender of the First Amendment Award at the event.
The patriarch of the Duck Dynasty franchise, who launched into a lengthy monologue about morals, responded to criticism that he was too religious by telling the crowd, "I'm trying to help you, for crying out loud, America!"
You lose your religion, according to John Adams, and there goes your morality, he said. Were almost there. I hate to admit I got my facts from the CDC the day before yesterday -- 110 million, 110 million Americans now have a sexually transmitted illness.
Robertson, whose strode onto the stage dressed down in a dark shirt and bandana, pulled out the Bible and read a passage from it. He exited the stage just as dramatically as he entered it.
He saluted the crowd and said in his signature dry tone, God help us.

110 million?
How many voted for Obama?
Now there’s a voter base ya wanna keep at arm’s length.
Forget Walker. Forget Cruz.
RE: 110 million Americans now have a sexually transmitted illness.
I have a hard time believing this. That’s ONE IN THREE Americans with a sexually transmitted disease !!
C’mon, One in three persons I meet on the streets has STD?
Did Phil get his facts right?
I hate to admit I got my facts from the CDC the day before yesterday -- 110 million, 110 million Americans now have a sexually transmitted illness. But the CDC has been known to pull "figures" out of their Obama, so....
And see G. Washington, Farewell Address, that other founding document.
I think it's a misunderstanding of the report that can be found here http://www.cdc.gov/std/stats/STI-Estimates-Fact-Sheet-Feb-2013.pdf
This says "CDC's new data suggest 110 million total STI's among men and women across the nation." I take that to mean 110 million instances of STI, but not 110 million infected (one person could have two or more infectious diseases). That being said, the CDC also claims 20 million new infections each year.
More Than 110 Million Americans Have an STD: Report
And half of new infections each year are among young people, CDC says
He’d make a great press secretary.
I believe it. Casual sex and hook ups are pervasive and condoms are effective for only AIDS and pregnancy. Everything else is transmitted through skin contact. If most people become sexually active around the age of 16, think of how many partners they will have by the time they are 30.
I would imagine the percentage of those with STDs is much higher in the under thirty crowd.
Funny I didn’t hear a word about him on The Five, it was all about Jeb Bush and how brave he was to attend the CPAC and trying to soften his views on Common Core and immigration.

STDs
That’s why I believe Obamacare was a very easy sell to millennials. I saw a lot of talk about this on forums where they are numerous.
When I was that age, nobody gave a rip about “health insurance”
OK, can’t fault Phil for saying what he said.
Here’s what I read from the site (PDF format ) you gave me:
In February 2013, CDC published two analyses1,2 that provide an
in-depth look at the severe human and economic burden of sexually
transmitted infections (STIs) in the United States.
CDCs new estimates show that there are about 20 million new infections
in the United States each year, costing the American healthcare system
nearly $16 billion in direct medical costs alone.
Americas youth shoulder a substantial burden of these infections.
CDC estimates that half of all new STIs in the country occur among
young men and women. In addition, CDC published an overall estimate
of the number of prevalent STIs in the nation. Prevalence is the total
number of new and existing infections at a given time. CDCs new data
suggest that there are more than 110 million total STIs among men and
women across the nation.
CDCs analyses included eight common STIs: chlamydia, gonorrhea,
hepatitis B virus (HBV), herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV), human papillomavirus (HPV), syphilis,
and trichomoniasis.
