The US Department of Justice and embattled mayor Rahm Emanuel are under mounting pressure to investigate allegations of what one politician called CIA or Gestapo tactics at a secretive Chicago police facility exposed by the Guardian.
Politicians and civil-rights groups across the US expressed shock upon hearing descriptions of off-the-books interrogation at Homan Square, the Chicago warehouse that multiple lawyers and one shackled-up protester likened to a US counter-terrorist black site in a Guardian investigation published this week.
As three more people came forward detailing their stories of being held hostage and strapped inside Homan Square without access to an attorney or an official public record of their detention by Chicago police, officials and activists said the allegations merited further inquiry and risked aggravating wounds over community policing and race that have reached as high as the White House.

Ping!
History repeating itself, only this time it will us. We are no longer safe on our own soil. Thanks to the Caligulia and his minions.
The facility in question is just a preview of what Barry Soetoro wants to institute nation wide.
I just hope the camp I end up in is in a warm climate.
Revolt is coming and it is starting.
I’m not at all surprised that this is happening in Chicago!
if you're a Christian I doubt you'll fare that well.
And so it goes...in post-Christian Amerika.
This has been going on for a long time. Feds have been involved and covering this thing up.
Feds are on track to outdo the Gestapo with their black hearts and technology.
I doubt this will get much press in the corrupt US government controlled media. I wonder what the FCC plan to censor the foreign media will be.
It took a British newspaper to expose this, again.
That’s the intent.
None of this is “just a coincidence” it’s all preplanned as a means of ginning up civil unrest against the govt.
Insight people to revolt then crush them.
It’s the Weather Underground way.
Rather to get people to say, “enough is enough” and the beginings of an American springtime.
Firstly, I’m not an apologist for the police or how they operate, they pull enough debauchery in full view as it is. However, I’m calling wait-and-see on this one until I see something from a credible source or two. So far, all we have are the grumblings of several known protesters and their pet ambulance chasers.
I’ll wait to see this story supported by a more credible source than the foreign leftist bent Guardian. Yes, Chicago has a reputation, and it’s plausible, but personally will not condemn my country America for Chicago until I see it in a more credible source.
The FCC will leave pretty much leave the foreign press alone.
My feeling is there is something else going on. Confinement of MS 13 types or other drug and gang bad actors, I don’t know. I do know there is much acute crime centered around Chiraq.
I don’t support this activity, but if these people are illegally here I’ll look the other way.
No, there will be no revolt. Fact is, we ARE watching history repeat itself, but somehow, we're special. While the Founding Fathers sacrificed it all, we are intent on waking up in the home we pay the mortgage on, getting into the new/semi-new car we make payments on and driving to work to pick up our check which will be used to buy the booze we drink when we get home to watch the game on the big screen TV. To revolt would require far too much sacrifice - it would put all of that at risk, and we're just too special to make risks like that. No, we will do, and ARE doing, as the Jews did in Hitler Germany. By the time we do wake up and want to fight back, it'll be far too late.
Arrestees are often shackled and held in a safe room when booking processes are overwhelming intake. There is no abuse. Access to a telephone is contingent upon cooperation with the booking process. Refusal to submit to photos and prints, which are employed to positively identify the arrested suspect, and refusal to answer booking questions or provide an ID, will qualify the subject for indefinite incarceration at a county lockup. These allegations i read in this article could be made by anyone undergoing examination upon arrest, at any police department: they, not understanding the law, and entitling themselves with rights that do not exist. There is no right to refuse answers to question like “what is your name and address’ upon arrest. They do not represent investigatory objectives, and information is not subject to 5th Amendment protection. Objectives of public justice demand that the an arrested be positively identified, for reasons obvious to anyone...including the idiot protester who thinks he is entitled to phone an attorney when not fulfilling lawfully compelled obligations to identify himself, or submit to lawfully- compelled photos and prints. This brewhaha is fabricated agitation designed to make headlines and impugn police. IMHO.
I do not agree at all.
