The attack ships got awfully close to the carrier, which was floating alone, unpowered and without air support. Here is what the "enemy" carrier group actually comprises. There would be a few other attack ships to get past before the dinghys could pull alonside a carrier . . .

As a live fire exercise-type video, it’s kinda neat! Who wouldn’t want to build a scale aircraft carrier and bomb it with, say, radio controlled planes?
But I don’t think that barge even sank, did it? Unconvincing as a demonstration of power. It would have been better propaganda if it had dramatically rolled over and sank.
