The intense lobbying for votes for Rand is already in full battle mode on the Ron Paul forum blog.

Thanks for the links!!!
“I like Cruz and Walker, but I use CPAC to see who will impress me and breakout! I will tell you now that Jeb isnt anywhere on my list.”
I’m with you on all that.
I am very suspicious of Jeb Bush. I heard some description of his upcoming immigration reform proposals described as a return to quality based criteria (e.g. how much an individual can contribute to this country) as opposed to our current family chain migration and random lottery-based awards to poor third worlders. I fear that is just an artful sales job, and not what we would really get.
Agreed.
Someone’s ethanol ox get gored?
On Friday, after Wayne LaPierre @ 1:20 I anticipate most attendees will skip Jeb, the final speaker of the afternoon, and go to the bar.
What’s he doing at a conservative conclave anyway? Is he going to speak on “compassionate conservatism”? Points of light? Illegals and their acts of love?
The New World Order?
Wow, this is wonderful.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for posting. If you don’t mind, could you please ping me if you post another thread. Thanks.
Same here. Carson is a good man, though.
I wonder if the Log Cabin Republicans have a booth this year.
Thank you for this information and links.
I can’t find a livestream.
I just found one. Missed Ben Carson and Mike Lee just finished up.

They are just introducing Palin now.
Any FReepers at the CPAC blogger bash? I’m here and would love to meet other FReepers ...
According to their schedule, CSPAN is broadcasting 4 hrs and 20 min of CPAC speeches starting at 1 p.m. ET(10 a.m. My time).
I was able to see some of them on CSPAN 3 early a.m. and at night and parts of them on Hannity’s show last night, but missed many of them, so hope they show the ones I haven’t seen, especially Lee, Jindal, Nigel and Palin. I thought Cruz and Walker did a great job and Rubio did well. I like Dr. Carson, and maybe it was just me, but I didn’t think he did as well as he normally does (but he was good).
It seemed to me that Ben Carson is aging a bit. He came to address some folks briefly after the activist training on Wednesday, and was very soft spoken. His voice could not carry to 1/3 of the room.
He stated that the United States inspired socialism, through the actions of industrialists like Rockerfeller and Carnegie, but that struck me as a fundamental misunderstanding of history - the Communist Manifesto was published when Carnegie was an 18 year old unknown, and John D Rockefeller was 9. The industrial revolution in England was the basis for Marx’s Das Capital, and socialism, as well as the underlying revolutionary political movements (which just used socialism as a storyline to whip up support) came from the much older movement to overthrow the monarchies and nobility - before even Napoleon or the French Revolution - before even the formation of the United States, in fact. Hell, the Spartans had socialism. He really lost me on an issue I care a lot about, and which underlies the whole of economic policy, and the struggle against the left. Perhaps he meant that the Robber Barons gave a boost to Socialism’s popularity in the USA, but he did not sound clear on the topic.
Jindal on the other hand, was kind of electrifying when briefly addressing the small group, but less so during his longer address to the main ballroom. Still seemed solid across the board and in command of the issues.
Palin was dressed pretty sexily with a tight skirt with a lingerie-like lacy hem which looked like her slip was showing, and high heels (like 4 or 5 inches). She had a medal of Honor recipient introduce her, and spoke a lot about her family’s military service and honoring veterans, the VA and such. Very well received, but it did not seem like a speech aimed at a nomination, so much as to endear her with the base (which she did). Almost all candidates mentioned ISIS and the need to defeat them - it was a prominent theme this year.
Nigel Farange was jolly and entertaining, and focused on the divide between elites and the regular folks - the Reagan Democrats. His brief foray into foreign policy fell a bit flat (isolationist like a Libertarian), but overall was intersting and well received.
Rubio seemed to me to make a contrite statement on immigration - that he has learned that we will not trust immigration reform before the border is secure, and now realizes that this is probably correct after the recent developments with the flood of minors and Obama’s unconstituional actions. He seems to be coming back in from the cold with Conservatives - no one seemed to hating on him (plenty of dislike was widely expressed for Bush though).
I missed Mike Lee and Ted Cruz because of the bad weather that day, but enthusiasm was high for Ted Cruz. I got to meet him, and was impressed by him in person. He is a physically large and well-muscled man - yet his demeanor was exceedingly gracious and kind, even noble. It brought to my mind descriptions of George Washington that I had heard.
Thank you for your very informative and thoughtful post!
