Former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has decided not to run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by liberal Democrat Barbara Boxer after 2016. With strong support among Latino voters in California, Villaraigosa was seen as a major potential threat to Attorney General Kamala Harris (D), who was the first to declare for the seat
With Villaraigosa out of the running, the path is cleared for Harris–unless Condoleezza Rice or another household name enters the Senate fray.

She should run for Boxer’s seat if she wants to run in an election where she has a small chance of winning.

The GOP has zero chance of winning in 2016.
California is a prohibitive Hillary lock.
I have not listened in awhile. I would download their podcasts. The last time I heard them having fun was when Tony Villar was Chairman of the Democratic Convention in 2012.

Nah, I bet Tony V. Figured out he couldn’t get as many freebies because of the higher scrutiny of a Senator, unless of course your a woman like Feinstein, Boxer, Sanchez, etc.
For the time being Blacks and Hispanics are coexisting in California, but the surging numbers of Mexicans and Central Americans coming into the state will make it hard for the state’s Dems to ignore their political power. In other words, sooner rather than later California’s Black Democrats are going to be pushed to the side by the Hispanics, and let’s see how Blacks will react to their political power nullified.

If so, it’s possible the November election could be between two Democrats. That’s how Sandy Fluke made it to the November election.
