Pew Poll: Growing Support for Campaign Against ISIS – and Possible Use of U.S. Ground Troops
Pew Research ^ | 02/25/2015

Posted on 02/25/2015 8:30:38 AM PST by SeekAndFind

The public has grown more supportive of the U.S. fight against ISIS, as about twice as many approve (63%) as disapprove (30%) of the military campaign against the Islamic militant group in Iraq and Syria. Last October, 57% approved and 33% disapproved.

The possibility of sending U.S. ground troops to the region is more divisive, although the idea draws more support than it did four months ago. Currently, about as many favor (47%) as oppose (49%) sending U.S. ground troops to fight Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria; in October, 39% favored the idea and 55% opposed it.

The new national survey by the Pew Research Center, conducted Feb. 18-22 among 1,504 adults, also finds a shift over the past year in public attitudes about the best approach for dealing with global terrorism.

In the new survey, 47% say “using overwhelming military force is the best way to defeat terrorism around the world.” About as many (46%) say that “relying too much on military force to defeat terrorism creates hatred that leads to more terrorism.”

In the Pew Research Center’s political typology survey, conducted Jan. 23-Mar. 16, 2014, 57% said an over-reliance on military force creates more hatred leading to increased terrorism, while fewer (37%) said that overwhelming military force is the best way to defeat global terrorism.

“relying too much on military force to defeat terrorism creates hatred that leads to more terrorism.”

Then annihilate them too.

Except we have an utter fool as commander in chief who I wouldn’t trust with one life of one of our service people.

Not after he has basically used our people as cannon fodder in Afghanistan.

Does this mean the Harf Jobs Plan is not getting a groundswell of support?

I wonder why not.

Don’t get me wrong, I cheer every ISIS defeat and I am horrified by every beheading performed by ISIS.

But...

What is the goal of US military involvement?
- How do we declare victory?
- Under what conditions would we withdraw?

What are the US interests?
- Protect an ally (legit)
- They are bad guys and need to be killed (not legit)

How will this be paid for?
- Figure it out later (Iraq War)
- Bonds
- Raise taxes

How will we keep Obama from expanding the mission, or blaming things on Israel?

It is ridiculous to say that you approve or disapprove of US military involvement without addressing these items

Clean the homeland of Islamists first and seal the borders.

The US and the Europeans need to do this. Then they can talk about what to do about ISIS.

The covert origins of IS/ISIS/ISIL (aka Al Qaeda in Iraq and Syria).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMjXbuj7BPI

And who started Al Qaeda? Our own CIA to counter the invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviets in 1979.

And why does Obama insist on calling IS/ISIS ISIL? Because ISIS plans on taking the whole Levant. The Levant covers the region from Turkey to Egypt and includes Syria, western Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and most importantly...Israel.

This conflict is going to suck a lot of nations into this fight according to David Icke.

I don’t trust the PEW polls.

About two decades ago I took early retirement and didn’t work the first year. If I wasn’t out fishing or doing some outside fun stuff, I would be at home tying fishing flies and doing a couple of decades of “Honey Do This” stuff.

PEW would call between 1 pm and about 3:30 pm when people who worked, like most conservatives were at work.

After a couple of basically pushed/directed polls to support liberals or liberal bs, by PEW, I would notify the PEW poll taker that I was a die hard conservative Republican and would not fall for push polling. I would hear thank you and good bye very quickly. After a few of these quickies, I stopped getting calls from PEW.

I used the same technique with other liberal poll takers, and before the first year was over, I stopped getting calls from liberal pollsters.

I/we must be on some don’t call list as we never get calls from any pollsters for well over a decade.

Unfortunately this will remain nothing more than an ARGUMENT until ISIS strikes directly here in America.

Those issues are important, but not the MOST important.

U.S. forces should not be sent to fight ISIS unless and until we have a commander-in-chief willing to explicitly and apologetically send our troops to fight IN THE NAME OF CHRIST and against Islam.

This is a HOLY WAR and we need to not shrink from saying so.

Wait till IS kills a bunch of Americans in an attack on the Malls, or Railroads, or colleges. Then the people will march in the streets to take care of IS once and for all.

The Republicans started WWI, WWII, Korea and the Vietnam wars?

Shouldn’t you call the democrats the party of wars and large war dead numbers?

I was watching a program recently about the Japanese internment camps that were set up during WWII, and it was said that because of this action there were people caught that were aiding the Japanese Empire in their war efforts. Furthermore, Japanese agents throughout the United States were also captured.
I say it is high-time to set up internment camps and round up every muslim man, woman and child and put them there, because their ENTIRE BELIEF SYSTEM (the Koran, whatever other books they study) DEMANDS THAT THEY HUNT DOWN AND KILL THE INFIDEL (all that do not submit to islam), wherever they find them.
I would estimate both their desire to kill every one of us and their hatred of this country is at 100%.

Why?

Did DU tell you to try and compare the loss of about 7,000 men over the Middle East wars of the last 24 years and after the worst attack on American soil ever, and targeting civilians, with the wars the democrats have gotten us into?
