State Assemblywoman Linda Stender (D-Union) tonight acknowledged that her husband got help from a non-profit group that assists low-income homeowners in demolishing a shore home severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy that records show had been purchased for nearly a half-million dollars.
The owner of the Manasquan home identified in public records as Richard Stender, the assemblywoman's husband applied to Monmouth County-based Coastal Habitat for Humanity for help, said Maureen Mulligan, the group's executive director.

Probably a Democrat, so there’s nothing to see here.
Now, give a Republican a free donut and He Must Resign!
Stender the Big Spender
Of course spending with other people’s money, never their own.
Probably with a wink and a nod from Jimmy Carter.
Democrats are LIARS and CHEATERS...PERIOD.....there is not one good decent one.
Very astute! Maybe they should start calling it Habitats for Democrats!
I like that! Habitats for Democrats! Such a ring to it!
Some might call it a dacha!
Sleazy dem0crats. Only good enough for ‘government work,’ useless in the private sector.
It’s a 640 sq. ft. home. That’s pretty much a room. Plus, she doesn’t live there, husband does. She lives with her mother who is “like 90 years old”....not sure what exactly that means.
I couldn’t see the size of the property, but if Habitat for Democrats tore down a 640 sq. ft. “home”, they have pretty much increased the value of the property. It will be on the market soon, I suspect.
This may be perfectly alright. I have wealthy clients who donate to Habitat for Humanity by giving them items they deconstructed from their home. These could include windows, doors, cabinets, etc. I understand that Habitat will sometime send a crew to help with deconstruction so to preserve the items.
I can see where it could be easy to spin out of context.
Oh yeah, Habitat has stores called Restore. Kind of like Goodwill for homeowners.
and there are some that are puzzled why big mouth Christie will never be prez...or any NE big mouth POS!
Gonna bet that the later is more likely. Now of course, it'd be fun to pull the tax records for the politician and see if he wrote off the entire ‘donation’ of goods to Habitat, or just the difference between the value of the goods, and the value of the demolition.
‘course, if the home was declared a total loss, claiming the value of donations from that home which is now owned by the insurance company would be grand theft and tax fraud...
This really pisses me off. Monmouth/Ocean County is a Republican district and most people either lost their homes or parted with their pocketbooks.
Habitats for Future Democrat Voters
Yeah, my wife had to help actually do some fixit work in a ReStore store not too long ago - it was a group of them from where they work going to help.
Of COURSE she’s a dem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCAevQjAtMk
